Willow Smith Spending Easter at the White House!
You might not recognize the name Willow Smith, but you sure will recognize her parents names: Will Smith and Jada Pinkett Smith. Ten year-old Willow also is little sister to Jaden Smith.
Willow started acting in 2007 in the film I Am Legend and also appeared in Kit Kittredge: An American Girl. She’s already winning awards too; she received a Young Artist Award for her performance in Kit Kittredge.
Willow also is a singing artist; she launched her music career last fall with the release of her single “Whip My Hair” and signed with Jay-Z’s record label Roc Nation. The single peaked at #11 on the Billboard Hot 100.
And now Willow is going to be hanging out with American royalty…the Obamas! She is scheduled to perform at this year’s Easter Egg Roll, which will take place on Monday, April 25 on the White House lawn.
The theme this year is “Get Up and Go!,” and approximately 30,000 people from around the country will gather at the White House for fun sports activities, arts & crafts, gardening lessons, and the main event: the Egg Roll.
Other performers at the event include John Lithgow, Greyson Chance, Mindless Behavior, Sesame Street and Little Beat, and DJ WillyWow, with Kelly Ripa, Mark Consuelos, Kristi Yamaguchi, Elmo, and Seasame Street’s Maria and Gordon all scheduled to read on the Storytime Stage.
