Beyonce Fires Her Father As Her Manager.

Beyonce is severing her relationship with her father, Mathew Knowles, as her manager after decades of managing her career.

Mathew helped launch Beyonce from obscurity through Destiny’s Child and onto her unstoppable solo career.

“I am grateful for everything he has taught me,” Beyonce said in a statement to People. “I grew up watching both he and my mother manage and own their own businesses. They were hardworking entrepreneurs and I will continue to follow in their footsteps.”

“He is my father for life and I love my dad dearly,” she continued. “I am grateful for everything he has taught me.”

I think this was a long time coming. In 2009, Beyonce’s parents Mathew and Tina divorced amidst rumors he fathered a child with a woman outside the marriage. And at that time in June 2010, Beyonce was not on speaking terms with Mathew.

I strongly feel that this severed relationship has direct correlation with the mistakes Mathew has made and the pain he has caused his family.
