‘Chitty Chitty Bang Bang’ Sequel Coming [Video]
Chitty Chitty Bang Bang is getting a sequel! The story of flying car Chitty Chitty Bang Bang will enchant a new generation of children because the author’s family has authorized three new books.
The author of the classic childrens story is Ian Fleming, who created the James Bond series. Ian Fleming wrote Chitty Chitty Bang Bang in 1964, about a candy inventor renovates an old car for his family. The car has magic abilities and is named Chitty Chitty Bang Bang because of the noise the car makes.
If you didn’t read the book, you are probably familiar with the film version of Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, the 1968 classic movie starring Dick Van Dyke.
BBC News reports that Ian Fleming’s family members asked children’s book author Frank Cottrell Boyce to write a sequel to the beloved story. The first of three books will be published in November 2011. Watch a clip from the 1968 movie version of Chitty Chitty Bang Bang.

cinemanostalgia.net commented on Mar 28 11 at 8:50 pmI have mixed feelings about this. Chitty Chitty Bang Bang was and still is my fav childhood film. A part of me looks forward to further adventures with the Potts family and their “fine four fendered friend” and another part dreads how Hollywood may massacre this cinematic childhood relic.
