The Elizabeth Taylor AIDS Foundation

When legendary actress Elizabeth Taylor passed away earlier this morning her family asked that instead of sending flowers or gifts that folks should make a contribution in her memory to the Elizabeth Taylor AIDS Foundation.

What is the Elizabeth Taylor AIDS Foundation and how can you make a contribution?

Following the death of her former co-star and close friend Rock Hudson 1985, Elizabeth Taylor took up the cause of raising money and awareness for AIDS-related charities.  She spearheaded the creation of the National AIDS Research Foundation which would ultimately become part of amfAR (American Foundation for AIDS Research).

In addition to her activities with amFar, she created her own AIDS support organization, the Elizabeth Taylor AIDS Foundation, which has raised more than $50 million to support AIDS patients and their families.

You can make a contribution to the fondation here or post your own message to the Elizabeth Taylor Tribute page on Facebook.
