Who will be Peeta in The Hunger Games?

There is still another year until the release of the first The Hunger Games movies. We just found out that Jennifer Lawrence will be playing Katniss and that the role of Peeta is still up in the air, but that Alex Pettyfer is a favorite for the male lead.

If you thought Twilight mania was bad, just wait for The Hunger Games! Five reasons The Hunger Games will be better than Twilight:

1. The storyline in The Hunger Games is one that grabs you and won’t let you go. You can’t stop thinking about it. What if our society really became like the Districts one day?

2. While a love story plays a big part in The Hunger Games and there is even a love triangle, there is so much more to the story than just a romance.

3.  The Hunger Games appeals to a wider audience.  You could see men going to see this without being dragged there by their wives.

4.  Katniss is such a strong female lead, unlike Bella, who is sorry to say a whiner most of the time.

5.  Team Edward vs Team Jacob? Forget that! Try Team Peeta and Team Gale!

Are you Team Hunger Games or Team Twilight?

It may be better than Twilight, but the casting news yesterday for Hunger Games has changed the story in the books that HG fans loved. The books are about CHILDREN. Katniss is 16, looks 14, olive skin and very thin. Lions Gate has chosen Jennifer Lawrence for Katniss and she looks like a 25 year old Pamela Anderson. The whole story changes using adult actors and that’s what she is, an adult. Harry Potter has been such a great success because they used children. Has Lions Gate watch JJ Abrams new trailer “Super 8”? He uses child actors for his main characters and it’s wonderful. So better than Twilight? OK. But not the HG story, rather a story of Hollywood twenty-somethings, the young “it” celebrities of the moment – very disappointing.

I’m sorry I’ve read both series and I loved the Twilight books more. It’s all subjective and I do agree the Hunger Games movies will be better but that’s not the Twilight’s authors fault or fans. We expected good movies but with a low budget and awful directors what did you expect ? And Hunger Games WILL NEVER BE AS HUGE AS TWILIGHT ! The craziness and the love the Twilight fans have for the series is UNLIKE something Hunger Games has yet to see. Went to pick up the last Hunger Games book only 14 people and no hype ? THAT’S RIDICULOUS ! I know it’s big but don’t compare our precious romance to something totally different and unlike Twilight !

2. While a love story plays a big part in The Hunger Games and there is even a love triangle, there is so much more to the story than just a romance.

I love that because, it is true. I’m not going to put down Twlight but I am going to put down Bella. I like The Hunger Games a lot better than Twlight because:

A. The main character is not weak,
B. The main character’s not a whiner.
C. The main character is not a damsel in distress, but rather her own knight in shining armor.
D. The Hunger Games isn’t ALL about Romance.

So I did put down Twlight, but The Hunger Games and Twlight are tow very different things. Like day and night. So it is an unfair comparison. But let’s give Jen Law a chance. She seems very excited for the role and she’s taking archery lessons next week and is going to dye her hair for the role.

I think The Hunger Games has a great shot at becoming a fantastic franchise. The stories are amazing. And yes, I love having a female lead with some gumption and a whole spectrum of emotion! Twilight was an enjoyable read, but the Hunger Games is gripping and full of raw emotion. I think that the casting will prove to be alright. Good actors play younger characters all the time, and I think that Lionsgate will pay attention to detail to make them look the right age, all the while assuring that the actor will have it in them to play such an important character! So for now, I’m putting my trust in Gary Ross and the rest of his team. They love the story, too, after all! I’m expecting great things! Oh, and by the way, Team Peeta!!!

2A. And the romance in it is super, awesomely twisted. Is it even a romance? Love it!

The Hunger Games rules. It’s kind of a classic with all the issues it brings up – even if it’s geared towards teens. I stand by that statement.

I’m someone who completely avoided Twilight (in book, audiobook, and movie form). But, you better believe that I’m looking forward to the Hunger Games movies. It’s such a riveting tale – kind 1984 for the tween set. Kids need more skepticism in their lives, and this should deliver it.

THG is going to be the most amazing series since HP! No doubt about it. There are already so many people out there that have read the books and are passing them on. In my case, I am someone who doesn’t care for reading but I read the HP series a week after each came out! I have a HP fan for life…Then my friend had me read the HG series…I read the first book in 1 night! I couldn’t put the book down! I read the last two just as fast…I can’t wait for the movie to come out in March, it is going to be amazing! The actors/actresses will do an amazing job…yes they are younger in the book but the series is still going to be amazing…like I have said since the beginning if Collins likes them then so should we, they are her characters, she knows what they are meant to be like…Trust her!
