Pete Wentz and Ashlee Simpson Heading to Court
A new custody battle is brewing.
Pete Wentz and Ashlee Simpson are heading to court to battle it out over their two-year-old son Bronx.
Wentz is seeking joint custody of their son, according to papers filed Monday in Los Angeles Superior Court.
When Simpson filed for divorce from Wentz on February 9th, Simpson requested primary physical custody and joint legal custody of their son.
Now, Wentz wants joint physical custody of their son. Glad to see that Wentz wants to be a full-time dad to his child.
Ashlee and Pete Wentz issued the following statement of their split:
“After careful consideration, we have made the difficult decision to file for divorce. We remain friends and deeply committed and loving parents to our son Bronx, whose happiness and well-being remains our No. 1 priority. We ask that everyone honor our privacy as we navigate this next phase of our lives.”
TMZ had reported that a source close to the couple says they grew apart.
“After Bronx was born Ashlee made a conscious decision to get out of the business, but Pete’s heart was in music so he kept touring and that became a big issue in their relationship.”
