Daniel Tosh ‘Happy Thoughts’ on Comedy Central, Too Harsh?
Do you think Daniel Tosh’s girlfriend is upset with him? Tosh did a giant rant about his Comedy Central special on how much he hates his girlfriend! How could you date a guy that did that?
Tonight Daniel Tosh had a special on Comedy Central, “Happy Thoughts” and he was pretty harsh! Nothing was off limits for Daniel Tosh in tonight’s stand-up special.
The comedian went off on abortion, overweight people, religion, racism, and many topics. The targets of his humor include his girlfriend, the Winter Olympics, star athletes, illegal immigration, gay sex, Twitter, Mormons, the Amish and baseball.
His jokes about baseball records are especially memorable. The act was filmed in San Francisco, and Tosh tells his audience, “Thanks for clapping for what my parents are ashamed of.” A repeat warning: It’s a bracing hour.
You can preview Daniel Tosh’s “Happy Thoughts” in these video clips or watch it on Comedy Central when it airs on March 8 (9:00 p.m. ET), March 9 (12:31 a.m. ET), and March 11 (9:58 p.m. ET).
Happy Thoughts comes out on DVD on March 8 and includes bonus material not shown during the Comedy Central special.

Mo commented on Mar 07 11 at 2:34 amI used to think Tosh was funny, but unfortunately I didn’t laugh once with his this new attempt..”Happy Thoughts”. It’s no wonder I’ve noticed his 2007 stand-up had been replayed over and over…he ran out of good stuff 4 years ago. Go back to the drawing board Tosh!…being Lisa Lampanelli isn’t working for you. Try sticking with what you’re good at – taped 1/2 hour shows where idiots of the web are doing half the work for you.
Sean commented on Mar 07 11 at 10:01 amViewers of the special were warned about the offensive content, not to mention the fact that his past work has been quite offensive. I suppose that because of this, none of his content should have surprised anyone. That being said, it was about as offensive as a set could get. And I’m sure to him, that was the goal. And boy was he successful by that criteria! Between the explicit humiliation of overweight women and the rape jokes, the show sounded like a stream of consciousness from the dark recesses of the mind of an angry sadist.
My advice: view at your own risk. Unless you’re 100 percent self-confident in every possible aspect of your being, this special will likely strike a nerve. I enjoyed certain parts of the special, but my guess is that after seeing the special, many people would have preferred that his “Happy Thoughts” remained just thoughts.

than Rivers, Rock and others.

CRAIG commented on Mar 07 11 at 11:34 am“Happy Thoughts” was hilarious! The key to comedy is to be an equal-opportunity offender. Political correctness has turned us into a nation of thinned-skinned victims. Grow a sense of humor or petition your cable company for a channel that plays nothing but Brady Bunch reruns.
Ken commented on Mar 07 11 at 1:47 pmConclusion,
Daniel Tosh is funny, everyone else has butt mad.
Justin commented on Mar 07 11 at 4:03 pmMy god people I agree with Drivel, iv heard much much worse get over youreselfs the fact that you care is pretty sad because when youre alone with friends you make the same jokes anyways, honestly you make me sick stop lieing to youreself

Sir Mike Tallon, PhD commented on Mar 07 11 at 4:58 pmPeople that are complaining he was too offensive are exactly part of the “kindergarten country” he was talking about. I wasn’t offended by a single thing, it seemed more contrived and tame to me, but then again, I think for myself and am more offended by school shootings and parents that murder their children than I am by words, sounds, and clicks of the mouth.
Colby paul commented on Mar 07 11 at 6:52 pmIt was hilarious and if you hippy libtards don’t like it than don’t watch it and dot complain go back to driving your prius and smoking your pot and complaining about people being too offensive and all that bs if you don’t like that than I urge you to give me a call or text if you have a problem with my agreement to supporting homophobia and sexism and racism my real phone number is 860 904 3644 ya go head try me
Nick commented on Mar 07 11 at 7:52 pmI have a similar joke about anything humor! So I loved the special! You have to be able to joke about f***ed up things to get past them!
Infovoyeur commented on Mar 07 11 at 10:46 pmWell, worth watching. “New” it pushed the envelope for stylish offensiveness (does comedy evolve as a genre?) But slippped in a bit of Principled values too under the Rader did you miss it, balanced things. “Dynamic Balance” thus? Heck I think Standup is a sport, I watch it as if a spektator fan in the bleechers, how high fast etc. can person go while yet retaining style namely “attainment and restraint” like a ski run you don’t stay timid narrow frozen, you don’t lop slop to excess, you course the course with both treu and verve, eh… (Of coarse I never saw him befoar this Happy Thoughs, so perhaps like others say he was better earlier.) Well in any case keep launching the vector and see if you can make the trajectory (as it were).
Rupert commented on Mar 09 11 at 2:00 pmI thought this was a great special. I wasn’t able to watch it this weekend when it first aired but as a DISH customer/employee I used the TV Everywhere app to watch it on my iphone during my lunch break today. I think Tosh is one of the funniest working people in comedy today, not my number one favorite of course, but he’s up there.
jack doherty commented on Jun 18 11 at 5:44 pmHey everyone. get off your high horse and get over it! I am 45 and loved it. Yes I am getting order but still love a good laugh!!! Daniel for prez.. Like we could do worse! Rock on Tosh!
