2012 Olympics Logo

The newly unveiled 2012 Olympics Logo is already causing controversy.  While it’s been widely criticized for its artistic take on the numbers “2012″, it’s now being called racist by Iran who don’t see the numbers at all.  Instead they believe it spells out the word Zion and are threatening to boycott the games.

In 2008, Iran sent 55 athletes to compete in 13 events during the Beijing Olympics.   Due to the possible political statement they believe is being made by the logo, Iran just may keep all of the athletes at home in 2012.  I just don’t see the racism in the design, but agree that it is a pretty ugly logo for the 2012 Olympic games.

Like it or hate it, the bizarre 2012 Olympic Logo will welcome the potential competitors including Michael Phelps, Ian Thorpe, Usain Bolt, and Dara Torres as they compete in London.

What do you think about the 2012 Olympic Logo?
