Cookie Monster judges the Top Chefs

The Top Chef All Stars had to make a cookie to please Cookie Monster, Elmo and Telly.  What a fun challenge!  The commentary from the muppet judges was hilarious.  And Richard got Elmo to say hi to his daughter. How cute!

Some of the chefs were comfortable making cookies and some of them were definitely not.   Richard and Angelo were the bottom two.

Dale and Antonia had Cookie Monster’s favorite cookies on Top Chef All Stars.  Dale was the winner of the quickfire challenge.

The elimination challenge would give one of the chefs $25,000: more than has ever been given away on a Top Chef challenge.

The chefs had three hours to make a meal in Target: they had to find everything they needed to cook in the store.  They were in an expanded or “Super” Target where there was more groceries available.  The chefs even had to build their own cooking stations from things that they found in the store.

For some reason, most of the chefs went with soup, like this was the soup challenge.  Anthony Bourdain was one of the judges again and he was pretty brutal.

Dale, Antonia, and Richard were in the top of Top Chef All Stars tonight.  Dale made a grilled cheese- with an iron- and tomato soup; Antonia made an egg dish; and Richard made a pork dish.  The winner of the challenge and $25,000 is Dale! Wow. Quite a prize for using an iron on grilled cheese!

Carla, Tiffany, and Angelo were in the bottom of this challenge.

Angelo went home from Top Chef All-Stars tonight, even though we saw so much of Carla during the episode that it was surprising it wasn’t her who was sent home.

I wouldn’t mind if Antonia or Dale left. They are not worthy of Top Chef and frankly annoying. I’d say Angelo had more skill, but wasn’t much better. I’m sad to see his Bromance broken up though. http://foodiegossip.blogspot.com/2011/02/top-chef-all-stars-angelo-sosa-mike.html

I look forward to seeing Muppets appear on the Discovery show “Verminators”. For obvious reasons.
