Top Chef All-Stars: Jimmy Fallon Judges!
We’re getting down to it on Top chef: All-Stars! No more immunity with the quickfire challenges.
Tonight’s quickfire had the chefs making a fondue. And the the judges were…the other chefs! Definitely better than last week’s quickfire challenge, where the food wasn’t even tasted. No voting for yourself, but the chefs had to choose the top 3 and bottom 3. The winner would get a 3 day trip to Napa Valley.
Fabio, Tiffany, and Mike were the least favorites. And then Padma called out the chefs who put them there. Love the drama!
Antonia, Dale, and Angelo were on the top, with Dale winning. I’d love to try his fondue.
The chefs had to take a pic with their cell phones of various ingredients that flashed on the screen and use that ingredient to cook for Jimmy Fallon’s birthday bash. Beef tongue, hamburger with french fries, ramen, chicken and dumplings, and chicken pot pie were some of the choices.
Fabio couldn’t even pronouce burger. So cute. Though Carla got chicken pot pie, which is right up her alley.
Jimmy Fallon inserted his humor into his judging: like saying that the salt monster came out in Dale’s dish.
The top chefs for this challenge were Antonia, Carla, and Angelo. The three sang a little beef tongue song that they had come up with. There was a lot of humor in tonight’s episode.
Carla was the winner, making this her third win! She won a 6 night trip to Tokyo and a cooking spot on Jimmy Fallon’s show.
Tiffany, Fabio, and Dale were on the bottom.
And oh, no! It’s one of my favs, Fabio, who was eliminated. Maybe his burger did taste like a “booger” like Fabio kept pronouncing burger.

Otherwise, I thought it was a good episode and challenge.
