Halle Berry Gabriel Aubry Custody Battle, Movie Was Last Straw
Halle Berry’s latest movie was the last straw for her baby daddy Gabriel Aubry. Events surrounding Halle’s work in a romantic comedy began the custody battle between the actress and Gabriel Aubry, who is the father of 2 ½-year-old daughter Nahla.
Halle Berry’s movie contract included compensation for Gabriel Aubry to accompany the actress and their daughter Nahla to New York City for two weeks of shooting. Aubry pulled out and decided not to go on the shoot, so Halle was forced to pull out of the production because she was concerned about leaving Nahla in L.A. for two weeks while she was in New York.
As a mother I don’t blame her because two weeks is a long time for a mom to be away from a toddler. But it appears that the act of pulling out of the movie was spark that light the custody battle flame.
According to PEOPLE, “When Gabriel refused to go, that became a factor in her decision to pull out of the film because she didn’t feel right leaving Nahla. No job is that important to Halle. Nahla comes first.”
After the actress pulled out of the movie, due to “serious concerns” about her daughter’s well being in Aubry’s care, the war of words began.
After the actress pulled out of her movie deal, Gabriel Aubry’s rep made a media statement, “While Gabriel is disappointed in Halle’s decision to falsely malign him publicly and for her own purposes, he refuses to be pulled into her dispute over a canceled film production.”
