Was Steven Tyler American Idol Apology Real or Fake?

The Steven Tyler American Idol apology that appeared on the screen before the show last night had to be some sort of joke. After what went down right after the apology was issued, I don’t see how it could have been real.

Right after American Idol “apologized” for Steven Tyler’s “outrageous behavior”, a guy came into the audition room with the name “Muck”, and judge Steven Tyler asked him if he knew what “Muck” rhymed with. You can figure the punch line out for yourself.

If the Steven Tyler American Idol apology was not a joke, then what exactly did they feel the need to apologize for? Steven Tyler’s behavior really isn’t all that “outrageous”, if you ask me.

And if they felt the need to apologize for things that Tyler said, why was there never an apology issued for Simon Cowell’s behavior on the show? He made more than one contestant cry, even making fun of one of their stars weight (Mandeesa).

What do you think? Was the Steven Tyler American Idol apology real or fake?

I am LIVID that nobody thinks an apology was necessary for Steven Tyler’s crude behavior that has no place on Idol. Idol was once a family show; Tyler has changed that. Also, he sexually harasses female contestants, including underage girls, and everyone is okay with that. Sorry, that is NOT by any means acceptable, and Tyler should be removed for it. There is a world of difference between controversial and inappropriate. Tyler’s behavior is inappropriate. Yet, everyone is coming to his defense. No apology was needed for Simon’s behavior, because Simon not only behaved like the gentleman that he is, he also did nothing wrong. He did what a music industry executive is paid to do, and that is evaluate talent. If someone can’t sing, and Simon tells them so, that is nothing anyone needs to apologize for. That was his job, as well as the premise of the show. Simon also flirted, but never got out of line with female contestants the way Tyler does. I’m glad Idol issed the apology, and they’d better get ready to do so many more times as long as that lowlife Tyler is a part of the show.
