Did Punxsutawney Phil See His Shadow?

Did the groundhog see his shadow on Groundhog Day 2011? According to history, if a groundhog fails to see his shadow on February 2nd, then Spring will come early that year. As I sit here and type this post and listen to the ice falling on my windows, I’m happy to report that Punxsutawney Phil did not see his shadow, so it looks like there will be sunshine in our future.

Punxsutawney Phil got up early this morning at his home in Gobbler’s Knob, Pennsylvania to deliver the good news. If Phil had seen his shadow, then legend says that we’d be forced to endure another six weeks of winter.

I don’t know about you, but I can’t take six more weeks of being cooped up in my house. I couldn’t be happier that the groundhog was missing his shadow this morning!
