285.petersen.csi .040108 CSI: William Petersen Returns as Gil Grissom in Guest SpotBig news for fans of CSI! William Petersen, who played the beloved Gil Grissom on the crime series, will return for one episode! Fans of the series will be happy to know that Petersen may reprise his role as Grissom as early as this week.  The timing of the CSI Grissom episode is not confirmed but the news that Grissom is back–even for one show–is good news for fans.

I’m a card-carrying fan of all the CSI shows:  CSI, CSI: New York and  CSI: Miami. But the original CSI series with Gil Grissom heading up the crime team is the best. William Petersen left the series in 2009 but he left, the door was open for his character to return occasionally.

According to EW, “his return involves Jorja Fox, who plays Gil’s on-screen wife Sara. It’s unclear exactly when he’ll appear back in or around the lab, but TV Line teased that it may occur this week.”

In the Feb. 3 episode of CSI, there’s a murder at the for the deaf where Grissom’s mom is a professor. Sara investigates but finds her mother-in-law very cold.  It turns out Grissom’s mom had another candidate for the role as wife planned for son Gil.  The Feb. 3 episode also stars Oscar winner Marlee Matlin,  who is Mrs. Grissom’s protege but used to date Gil.  I don’t know about you but I’m going to GLUED to the TV on Feb. 3 to see if Grissom returns!
