If you missed the live SOTU last night, you can catch the Obama state of the union 2011 video below. The Obama speech is certainly drawing a lot of pundits’ commentary today. The networks noted last night the rather subdued nature of the Obama state of the union 2011, with both parties trying to demonstrate cohesion in the wake of Gabrielle Giffords’ tragic shooting.
But as you can see in the Obama state of the union 2011 video, the attempt at putting partisanship aside wasn’t entirely successful. My husband and I played a little game called “guess which party that guy or gal belongs to” while watching the reactions of the various Congressmen and –women to different parts of his speech. Hint: Republicans mostly frown; Democrats mostly beam; Rep. John Boehner looks so pained I wondered if he was getting appendicitis.
