Krishner guided the careers of Bruce Springsteen, Pink Floyd, Kiss.  Kirshner was a legend in the music business but he died of heart failure on Monday in Boca Raton Florida.

From 1973 to 1981, Don Kirshner hosted “Don Kirshner’s Rock Concert” on ABC. The alive show was very innovative for its time and every episode opened with a performance by a musical guest. “Don Kirschner’s Rock Concert” featured the hottest acts of the day including the Rolling Stones, David Bowie,  Lynyrd Skynyrd, the Allman Brothers, and many others.  Kirshner was known in the music industry for breaking new ground and his death is a sad day for many in the business.

Don Kirshner is survived by his wife, Sheila; his children Ricky and Daryn; and five grandchildren.

Rolling Stone editor David Wild called Kirshner the “man with the golden ears”.  Wild said, “Thank you Don Kirshner for helping to bring us so much enduring music that will outlive us all. Here are some of the songs I will be playing in Don Kirshner’s honor today.”
