AJ McLean of the Backstreet Boys has gone into rehab.
“For personal reasons, I’ve checked myself into a rehab clinic. With 2011 being a busy year for Backstreet, I want to be healthy and at my best,” McLean said in a statement.
“Thank you for all of your support and respecting my family and friends’ privacy during this time. I’ll see you really soon.”
McLean is joining the boys on a summer tour with New Kids on the Block – a reunion that has fans, many who are moms, super excited!
A few days ago, McLean tweeted that he was going to start his journey towards being sober.
“Its gonna be a great year! I love u all and wish me luck! I start my sober journey tomm!” he tweeted on January 9th.
The next day McLean tweeted, “See u on the other side!”
AJ has been in rehab many times before due to addictions, including alcohol and cocaine.
The Backstreet Boys/NKOTB combo is going to be the ultimate boy band concert of the year. Let’s hope AJ is sober and clean well before the tour!
