Darius Rucker performs at Sugar Bowl

Country singer Darius Rucker performed the National Anthem before the Sugar Bowl game between Arkansas and Ohio State. He was also set to perform a free concert before the game.

As a huge football fan, he was excited to get to be a part of the bowl game, though he admits to be nervous about singing the National Anthem. Can’t really blame him, since anyone who messes up the song ends up being a youtube joke.

Fans may remember Darius Rucker as part of the group Hootie and the Blowfish. Even though I’m a huge fan of his switch to country music, I admit that I still think “Hootie” whenever I see him.

Darius Rucker has been married for over ten years and has three young children.

I missed the game. Did Darius Rucker do a good job with the National Anthem?

it was awful.

It was worse than awful… it was heinous. He couldn’t carry a tune… regrettable. I’m sure with accompaniment he would have done better.
