Meg Ryan and John Mellencamp are dating.
This news comes just a few days after Mellencamp announced he and his model wife Elaine Irwin were separating after 18 years of marriage, on New Year’s Eve.
Ryan, 49, and Mellencamp, 59, have reportedly been spending time together on Martha’s Vineyard and in New York City the past few days.
Ryan and Mellencamp were spotted having coffee and grocery shopping together! They had coffee at Espresso Love in Martha’s Vineyard, which is a fave spot of Ryan’s. The two were also seen grocery shopping at Gourmet Garage in New York’s SoHo neighbourhood.
Eye-witnesses told People magazine that the pair seemed happy and at ease.
“She usually comes in by herself or with her daughter. I thought that was her husband because they seemed for comfortable and familiar with each other, just like an old married couple,” one observer told People.
A source close to Ryan says the actress and singer began dating about seven weeks ago. The source added that Mellencamp and Elaine Irwin had been already separated for some time.

Although a divorce hasn’t yet been announced, this will be Mellencamp’s third. He and Irwin have two sons together.
Ryan was married to actor Dennis Quaid for 10 years before they divorced. Together they have a son and daughter.
