How Old Is Dick Clark? And How Many Rockin New Years Eves Has He Had?
One thing that passes through almost everyone’s mind when they see Dick Clark is…how old is he? The radio/television personality, ex-game show host and businessman has been a fixture on New Years Eve for as long as many of us can remember. And one thing about Dick Clark, he does not look like most 81-year-olds. How is he the Dorian Gray of New Years Eve, it’s probably thanks to some good doctors who come into play. And although his appearance masks his real age, how old is Dick Clark anyways?
He is 81. He was born in November of 1929. And if you’re wondering how long Dick Clark has been “Rockin New Years Eve,” he started doing the program back 38 year ago in 1972. Dick Clark has been able to host the show every year except for two. One year – 2000 – he was on the sidelines during the ABC 2000 Today broadcast. The other time was in 2004 after he had his stroke, when Regis Philbin filled in for him. And starting in 2001, he brought his co-host – who has pretty much taken on the main primary host duties, the ultra busy Ryan Seacreat.
But how many more Rockin’ New Years Eve’s will Dick Clark do? He’s had a pretty good run so far, perhaps he’ll still be hosting when he’s a hundred!
