I am very upset that this happened,I was wondering what had happend to Maggie.I Loved all 3 of them. Maggie’s baby was born my b-day.When Maggie came back from maternity she looked great.When Erika came back from her’s she looked uncomfortable with herself,and the way she dressed, shoes that did’nt match her outfit.If CBS is tryin 2 get the younger genaration,they are goin the wrong way.Harry the dedication and passion for all these years to CBS meant nothing.And Dave who made me laugh every mornin,and the no way home series that had me watching every day 2 see if he was alright,or to see if he was gonna make it,and he did tired,and beat down. The sacrifice they all made to keep us watching.I don’t like the Saturday show,they are boring,And that’s what we are getting from now on.These people can’t fill the shoe’s of Harry,Dave,and Maggie,oh I forgot Julie,I wonder how she feel’s,she’s got 2 things going for her.Her show and well it’s not who you know it’s who your married to.

I was shocked when I heard the breakup of the CBS ” Early Show” trio! Harry, so warm & knowledgeable, Dave, who brings fun & entertainment to an otherwise boring job and beautiful, perky, Maggie, who has it “all together”…..HOW, could you DUMP THEM for those other people that I have never heard of AND don’t plan to watch? Another “screw up,” like Katie Couric, on the evening news! She’s like “a fish out of water” on the evening news. (boring) At least she had a personality on “The Today Show!” Well, it’s back to the “Today Show” for me, as well as ‘The Evening News with Brian
Williams!” What’s “with you,” CBS????? I’m afraid you’re going “down the drain!” I’ll be looking forward to hearing where the trios’ careers will lead them.

I really liked Harry Smith and Dave Price. They were like family, They are human, funny, warm. I’ll miss them and will now have to try to find somehting other than the Early Show to watch in the mornings before work. I’ll miss watching Harry eating everything in the cooking segments, and I’ll miss Dave’s adventures. I can’t relate to all of the 30 somethings. Goodbye Early Show.

Harry, I hate that you are leaving you are a person of “true class” and the show will never be the same without you. You brought so much to the Early Show that no other person can give. My family and I will truly miss you. Like the old saying life goes on and I wish that you find an even better place to land.

Nothing against the new team but let me tell you, “Harry Smith is irreplaceable!” I am also leaving the CBS morning show with Harry. Ratings or no ratings, I have always been a loyal viewer. What have you done to the morning show? Bad move, CBS.

Harry, Maggie & Dave were the reason I watched CBS in the morning. They were great and fun to watch. I just watched the new team and it was so boring! No more CBS in the morning for me. I just switched to NBC. This shake up will do nothing to help their ratings. It will hurt them. They have made a big mistake!! The people that should be fired are the top execs and bring back Harry, Maggie & Dave.

Why would try to fix something that is not broke? I have nothing against the new crew, but my old crew was doing just fine. Since CBS decided to make a change, I sure they won’t mind if I make a change.

I have watched the early show forever, I will not watch the show , Dave Price was delightful to watch , sometimes change is no good. I will not watch the show anymore. The Today show sounds good to me.

Yeah, I guess I’m moving to a different station too. Have no idea which one though since I’ve been watching the Early Show for years. I can’t believe that Harry is gone; this makes me so sad and sick to my stomach. Yep, I’m out! Doesn’t matter to me who is doing the show now; I don’t know them, have no loyalty to them at all. So, I kept wondering where Harry and Dave were – now I know. Bad move CBS. Harry, Dave, & Maggie were great together – bringing the others in and integrating them into the show was fine….but to do away with Harry? Dave? Maggie. I won’t be watching either – They were my coffee family….the thing I looked forward too every morning after the kids left for school & before work.

I am 26 years old and have been a dedicated early show watcher for while now. I loved all three of them.The show wont be the same without them. I loved the show so much because I felt like I really knew them. Now it just seems strange. I have continued to watch it to give the new people a chance. But it just isn’t the same at all.I don’t think I will continue to watch. I loved Maggie also, But Harry and Dave were the heart of the show for me. Anyone know where the two of them will be going with their career? It would be great if they get on a new show together. Maybe Oprah will do a morning news show on OWN, and give them a job!That would be great. I would definitely watch it. Cbs just messed up big time! A big part of the reason they were the most watched network is because of Dave and Harry.They could have gotten rid of anyone on that entire network except for them!!!!!

What a Big mistake , CBS you are just like the rest of the world money, money, money. I had company over the holidays and thought I was in the Twilight Zone when I couldn’t find my friends Harry, Dave, and Maggie. I kept thinking I must have had the wrong channel and kept switching channels. Then I thought something terrible had happened but no one mentioned anything. I am sure these new young people are nice but they absolutely can not stand up to Harry, Dave, and Maggie. I hope Oprah picks them up. I just can’t imagine getting up in the morning without my good friend Harry. He is probably the most trustworthy person on TV. Whomever made this decision should be fired. But, I will not be watching because I’ll go to NBC. I just cannot watch this new crew.

Such a bad choice in my opinion. My parents always watched CBS news and the local affiliate WCCO. I grew up with these people. This almost feels like my doctor being taken from me. Love Harry Smith. As many others I will seek my morning news (national) from different entity.

With judgment calls like this, Harry, Dave, and Maggie are lucky to be embarking on new and exciting futures. There is no equal to Harry’s insight and intelect in the industry—–none. From Presidents on down, Harry is comfortable and respected. Dave and Maggie are very interesting to watch, and I am sorry to say that is not true with the present people conducting the Early Show. At first, I thought Harry and Dave were on vacation and then I found out they were fired. I am choosing to find other morning news programs to keep me informed. I am anxious to see them appear in the future, because it would be a very intelligent move to pick up such informed and experienced news personnel. I expect your numbers to plummet with the Early Show.

It’s very upsetting to learn the CBS news! Harry has been a kind and very concerned anchorman on many serious issues, showing true human feelings. As if we didn’t know that the marriage between Julie and the GM wouldn’t lead to something obscure down the road. That was my first thought. As for Dave & Maggie they too are enjoyable people with talent and laughs that the American people need. It’s unfortunate that alot of the changes around are not only uncomfortable but, seem to contribute to some of the sadness.
Always keep the faith!, There’s always something better on the other side!

I think the Networks are going to have to start to realize the baby boomer generation is retiring. Baby Boomers are the majority and we are not really interested in the latest craze or in being entertained by a 22 year old air head. We are home watching Television more than the 20 to 40 year old’s. They are out earning a living and partying. We are the one’s purchasing the products we see advertised. The majority of the morning commercials are for Medicare gap coverage, Mobility equipment and life insurance for seniors and yet they take Harry off in order to put a younger news crew on? It is becoming more and more difficult for me to find anything entertaining on television as I draw closer to my 60′s and all the programming seems to be gearing more and more towards the 20 year old demographics. The networks may need to re-think some of their changes if their ratings continue to drop.

CBS you really messed up. We miss Harry, Maggie and Dave. I don’t know who to watch now. GMA is so so without Charlie and Diane. Today has never been an option to consider.??? Marysol really stinks. All she does is correct people about how to pronounce her name. The main guy, Chris, has no personality. Erica is OK but not like Maggie. Jeff seems to be nice. The show has lost its zip.

I too was shocked and just plain Mad…I watched every day..and now i don’t watch at all…If you wan’t people to watch your program, maybe you should find some halfway decent writers and directors..The problem with the ratings was Not their fault.

Since January 3, 2011 I’ve tried to the Early Show without Harry, Maggie and Dave. I can’t do it anymore. CBS, you made a very bad decision. The Early Show is not the same without them. And please don’t say, “Yes, we know … it’s better without them.” Believe me, it’s not. Goodbye, Early Show!

What EARLY SHOW??? In my opinion, there is “no show’ with the firing of Harry, Maggie, and Dave.They were a perfect trio, and I will stop watching.Harry reminded me so much of my brother…looks,age,voice, mannerisms,etc.I only see my brother two or three times a year;therefore, it was calming to sit down with a cup of coffee,and listen to Harry!
Dave was hilarious,and Maggie was a perfect balance…I miss them so much.

Thanks Judy, I didn’t realize that Fox had a morning news show. I’ll be switching to them. I tried Today but can’t stand Matt, I have never liked GMA and I did try the young kids on the new Early Show, but they have nothing in common with this 51 year old. I suppose now we will be hearing all about toddler antics, new baby stories etc– and those people have money to spend?? CBS is nuts– relying on old data that older people don’t buy much. The baby boomer generation is doing quite well and has plenty of money to spend on “stuff”. I once spent a morning writing down every commercial on the CBS morning show to be sure I don’t buy any of your stuff. All of you unhappy people on here should suffer through a morning of the terrible new crew to avoid all the products. Money speaks. When we all put a boycott on those advertisers– the advertisers will give us back Harry and Dave. Get to it old Early Show watchers– it’s the least we can do for Harry, Dave and Maggie.

CBS, your choice to replace Harry , Maggie and Dave on the Early Show was a grave mistake. Your new crew just doesn’t cut it. They all seem akward and definately don’t seem like a team. Although I have tried for the past two months to watch them and give them a chance, my opinion about them has not changed. I have watched your Early Show for many years and it was one of the only programs that I actually would sit down and watch. But not anymore. Not only have you ruined the Early Show, but I have also noticed over the past few months that you no longer were broadcasting when the National Anthem was being played prior to the start of major sports. You would choose to go to a commercial and come back to the game once the song was over. How Un-American. I will no longer be tuning in to your station.

When Harry, Dave, and Maggie left, I didn’t watch CBS in the mornings for weeks, but I just couldn’t get into the other stations. I have been watching CBS in the morning for several weeks now, but it just doesn’t grab me the way it did before. I used to laugh a lot at Dave and I felt commardary between them that somehow just doesn’t come across with the new crew. I really miss the old crew. While I will remain faithful to CBS it won’t be daily like before and it just doesn’t fill me with the joy it did before. I miss you Harry, Maggie, and Dave.

here it is July and I still miss Harry……Have not watch CBS morning show since….
