Today Show Steals and Deals: Leaving Customers Feeling Scammed?

today show steals and deals2 Today Show Steals and Deals: Leaving Customers Feeling Scammed? The Today Show Steals and Deals promotions have been a big hit this holiday season.  Within minutes of appearing on the Today Show segment promoted retailers have found their websites crashing and have left customers feeling disappointed.

Are the Today Show Steals and Deals a great deal or a big ripoff?

The Today Show promotions are definitely a great deal if you are fast on the keyboard and ready to start typing the minute they hit the morning show.  The deals have proven to be a bit too much of a good thing for some of the smaller retailers whose websites just can’t handle the traffic being funneled to them after a mere mention on the hit show.

The biggest disappointment of the holiday Today Show Steals and Deals was definitely the Radio Shack GPS promotion which sold out of 10,000 units in only a few minutes.  Unfortunately these deals are so great that everyone wants to get a piece of them which will ultimately leave loads of other potential buyers disappointed.

Personally I was able to snag both the World Port Seafood Prized Catch Collection and the Aeropostale Belted Fur Trim Puffer Coat from last week’s deals!  The deals are definitely a steal, but you have to be fast on the trigger to grab one before they sell out!

I feel scammed. I did the Today show deals for the Jennifer Miller watches 2 weeks ago. Had an email confirming the order. Saw the charge hit my card on 12/7. Called the Jennifer Miller store last week and was advised that I should have receipt by today. Well guess what I got today — an email stating that my “backorder” could not be filled and that they will process a refund to my account. Here I am 4 days before Christmas left with no gifts just a bad taste in my mouth.

I had the same issue with Christine Price bag and the email I received was unprofessional and excuse-laden and the website offered no phone number and more excuses as to the slow response to any email inquiry. I ended up disputing the charge and nobody I know is interested in ever purchasing that brand, so I hope they got what they wanted out of the deal. There was a better way to handle this.

I feel scammed. On December 7th I paid the $40 for express shipping for the pearl necklace from pearlcollective.com and as of Christmas Day they have not arrived! I checked with Pay Pal and the site says buyers have only 45 days to open a dispute. The Today Show should apologize to its viewers for endorsing a shady company and help us resolve these customer service problems! There is even a Pay Pal thread of disgruntled customers https://www.paypal-community.com/t5/Fraud-phishing-and-spoof/Pearl-Collective-Scam/td-p/160074

Has anyone rec’d the necklaces from Dec 14th? Or the purses? I have been billed, but haven’t rec’d the merchandise. I don’t want to pay my bill unless I will get merchandise. Does anyone have an e-mail forthe necklaces or purses?

Has anyone received the State necklaces offered on Nov. 30th from the Maya Brenner Design Company? Payment was promptly taken from my banking account but I have yet to receive any product?

I received the pearl necklace today. It is broken and cheaply made . I was scammed

I got the necklace after Christmas , if it was legite their would
be some type of appraisal or description, it seems more like
$50. value, but $1,000!
The Omaha steaks and chicken were a joke, barely an
appetizer, the baked potatoe was the best of the worse,
Today Show should apologize.

I think someone should check out the service the companies doing these Steals and Deals provide… I ordered 2 of the Green Bay Packer Snuggies on JANUARY 23rd. I got an email that a label for this shipment had been created on 1/27/2011 with the following tracking number 1Z78F9870381536525 but UPS does not yet have possession of the shipment. Once they receive the shipment, the tracking status will be updated. I then got another email from orders@carsons.com ,the sellers, on 2/1/2011 stating Order number 12368332 has shipped and your credit card has been billed. Then today, I checked on the tracking number and GUESS WHAT – THEY STILL DON’T HAVE the ITEMS !!! It has now been over a week since I ordered and NOTHING. When you call they will tell you they have 7 to 10 BUSINESS DAYS TO SHIP ITEMS !!! and there is NO GUARENTEE items are in stock when ordered, since they can come from many different warehouses !!! You would think that since this was a DEAL advertized on the TODAY SHOW this company would HAVE the items in hand and ship them in one or 2 days like every other online store does.!! I feel Ripped off TOO !!!

I also feel scammed, ordered the Christine Price, My credit card was billed and has been paid. No Handbag, no e-mails, what can a person do. I hope the Today Show never advertises their product again. I think something should be done about this.

I am definately feeling scammed….ordered the infinite collection dress from Sub-Urban LLC after it was on Steals and Deals on January 11th. My card was charged, same day, and NO Dress. It is February 14th, I have e-mailed the company (2 weeks ago) with my invoice number and asked for a response, and have gotton no response. I am very unhappy, and would never have thought that I’d have to second guess whether or not a company endorsed by The Today Show, is reputable.

It’s two months – MONTHS – later, and I’m still waiting on my Christine Price handbag. I have left comments with both the company and the Today show, and I’ve contacted the California Attorney General’s office.

It reflects very poorly on the Today show that they would tout these products without apparently having done so much as make sure the provider is still in business.

I ordered christine price bag also, never got any response.I feel it all was a scam.Today Show should be held responsible also, thats poor judgement on their part, they dont care about their viewing audience, and I watch that show every morning.I feel really bad.Bags are my weakness,so I guess this is a lesson to me.I feel that these people will continue to scam people if nothing is done
