Breaking Dawn: Jacob’s Love “Connection” With Bella Creepy Or Cool?
Breaking Dawn is being filmed right now in Louisiana, and Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart, and Taylor Lautner are hard at work putting the finishing touches on the whole Edward, Bella, Jacob love triangle.
In Breaking Dawn, Jacob and Bella say a final goodbye to each other at Bella and Edward’s wedding…leaving him with a broken heart. Jacob even gets into a heated argument with Bella when he realizes she is going to become a vampire, and squeezes her arm and almost cuts her circulation off. Edward breaks them up before things get out of hand, and they finally part ways.
As Twilight Saga fans already know, the goodbye scene in Breaking Dawn between Bella and Jacob is not the end of the love connection for these two…except that instead of Bella, Jacob winds up falling for Bella’s daughter, Renesmee immediately after seeing her for the first time.
Considering that he was head over heels in love with Bella, is Jacob’s love connection with Renesmee creepy, or cool?
Think about it for a minute…if one of your exes from high school were suddenly smitten romantically with your child, wouldn’t you be a little weirded out?
Is the relationship creepy, or is Jacob and Bella’s connection so strong that Renesmee is the answer to tying them together in some way forever?

emma commented on Dec 20 10 at 7:48 pmIs this even a question. Jacob is effing creepy. He’s been effing creepy since the beginning. Always grabbing Bella and acting as if he owns her when he’s not even her boyfriend. Effing creep.
leigh commented on Dec 20 10 at 8:05 pmi was wondering if it is possible that the only thing that stopped Bella become totally mindlessly commited to jacob is her shield. Sam imprinted on Emily and ect, no one is turned down that ive read of. I know they are the good guys but i agree it is creepy. astral connection with first Xtra large wolf…?
Olivia commented on Dec 20 10 at 8:31 pmNot Creepy. He didnt have sex with her.
Bree commented on Dec 20 10 at 9:35 pmNo, that is not creepy, you fucking twats. Imprinting is A soul mate thing: It’s not as if he is going to sleep with Renesmee. You have to understand, he was never really in love with Bella, he was drawn to her, not Bella, but it was Renesmee the whole time. Even before she was created.
Renesmee was made for Jacob and Jacob for Renesmee. It is not AT ALL a romantic thing, she will be whatever she needs him to be for her. First, a brother, then a best friend, and when she is fully grown, a lover.
Grayce commented on Dec 20 10 at 10:16 pmYeah, I guess that’s why she tries to rip his head off, who wouldn’t. Get off my daughter? But it ends up not being like that, obviously. But Bella’s initial reaction is the right one and I loved it. Of course, it all works out in the end and we all get more relaxed with the situation haha
Lee commented on Dec 20 10 at 10:18 pmUUUmmmmmmmmm……………………..For those that haven’t already worked it out. Hello……………… This story is FICTIONAL!!!!
Grayce commented on Dec 20 10 at 10:18 pmBut loved the attack on Jacob, long time coming where she finally belongs to Edward completely. That was great.
AHLYNNE commented on Dec 21 10 at 2:02 amof course, the story plotline is about vampires and werewolves. Its paranormal romance for God’s sake and you expect it to be normal and straight.
Madi commented on Dec 21 10 at 4:13 amIts TOTALLY creepy.
But understandable.
In real life thats just wrong.
but, ya no, he didnt really have a choice.
emily commented on Dec 21 10 at 5:54 amit is creepy! so what if he doesnt sleep with her of corse he doesnt shes a kid but think about it renesemee grows up fast and then it wont matter to him. they will sleep together they couldnt with someone else. but he was so annoying with the bella thing and then hes like oh i like your daughter i understand it all but still effing weird
Laura commented on Dec 21 10 at 9:06 amCreepy. Yes. One of the most serious flaws in the book, but just another part of the train wreck end of the series that was so brutally disapppointing. My big question is how Taylor Lautner’s career will fare after portraying what is essentially a pedophile. The makers all have to be very cautious with this one because it is creepy, and the franchise is so huge that it will have a lasting effect on the careers of all involved. How they portray it all will be the most interesting part of the upcoming movie as far as I am concerned.
Mackenzie Lauren commented on Dec 21 10 at 11:02 amIt’s creepy. I know he’s not physical with her yet, but he’s still in love with her. I understand that it’s always been Renesmee and that she’s his soulmate, though. I also agree with Laura that the cast needs to be very careful to pull this off. I have faith in them to do it, though. Especially Nikki Reed, who has to play a role sort of like Rebecca De Mornay did in The Hand That Rocks The Cradle.
November 18th!
Mackenzie Lauren commented on Dec 21 10 at 11:04 amOh, and he doesn’t grab her because she’s becoming a vampire; he grabs her because she’s going to have sex with Edward.
Jenna commented on Dec 21 10 at 3:25 pmAre me and Bree the only ones who read and understood Breaking Dawn here? Jacob was drawn to Bella because of Renesmee and thank goodness for that because Bella is boring and would never be good enough for Jacob. Can I get a amen? Renesmee and Jacob is not creepy. He ‘involuntarily’ imprinted on the baby. He will be her 2nd father…when she’s 5, he’ll be her teddy bear, when she’s 11, he’ll be her big brother. When she’s 13, he’ll be her best friend. And she’s half vampire. Jacob hates vampires, but he loves this little girl and when she’s a woman, hopefully she will love him as more than a best friend. And guys..she doesn’t have to fall in love with Jacob when she’s a woman…should be interesting to see if Stephanie will continue Jacob and Nessie’s story. Oh and yes, I realize this is a fictional story. I’m hooked though and I’m 26…embarrassing.
Smiley commented on Dec 21 10 at 4:46 pmTOALLY CREEPY!!!!! I must admit. I understand its FICTIONAL, its FANTASY however, it is marketed to a group of individual that haven’t quit figured out all the does and don’t of their hurmones on blast. . .throwing in the CREEPY get what you want from the daugther if the mother won’t is a total let down! This is a pedophile move plain and simple!!! This train has already left the station, and unforunately I purchased the ticket. . .I’m getting off here and won’t be involved any longer, in this case someone should have been left with a broken heart, not a ready made child for your past heartbreak. . .The stories were so good, there could have been many avenues to venture down without making a child a reward. . . Now Everyone is satisfied and at who’s expense? Pedophiles has enough tools at their disposal
taytayfan commented on Dec 21 10 at 4:49 pmAmen; not creepy when you live in a world of vampires and werewolves. That’s why it’s a fictional story.
So the mystical world of Twilight gives us Jacob imprinting on Bella’s daughter. What’s so creepy about that? It’s clearly mention in the book how that relationship is for one who imprints.
I agree that it would be interesting to see if Stephanie could continue a Jacob and Nessie story but I’d hate to dog (pardon the pun) on Jacob again for that storyline.
TeamBlack commented on Dec 21 10 at 10:41 pmOkay so, when I read this book I was sooo pissed. I read all four books in four days and when I got through with this book I was mad. I had read for seven hours straight slept for five and started reading again till I finished. Seeing that I have been on Jacob’s side since New Moon I was heartbroken when Bella dies and Jacob is trying ONCE AGAIN to save her dumb ass. It made me cry and I’m not a crier. The imprinting thing is odd. However once it is explained as not a romantic love, just an overwhelming love.
The book explains that Jacob only believed that he loved Bella, he was only so drawn to her because she always had a part of Renesmee with her. That was why he was so drawn to Bella, the possibility that if Renesmee had never been born then he would have still always loved Bella, but the part of Bella that he loved was in fact Renesmee.
If I had my way with the story I’d rather Bella had been killed by Laurent in New Moon instead of her ending up with Edward in Breaking Dawn. I think Jacob’s character, while young and immature, is full of love and life and fun. Mean while Edward is a doormat and the wallpaper that makes up the background of the story. He is either mopey or jealous, just totally a drag either way. Jacob is exciting, hot blooded, handsome and young. I understand people love Robert Pattinson, but the Edward in the book totally fades after Twilight.
smileee commented on Dec 21 10 at 10:54 pmIt’s…… CREEPY!
LOL
Mackenzie Lauren commented on Dec 22 10 at 9:38 am@Jenna I understand it haha…it would still be weird in away, because Imprintings weird. I don’t think Jacob is too good for Bella. He’s immature, cocky, and tries to own Bella when he’s just her friend. I use to like Jacob in Twilight, but after that he just got too annoying. But there’s always the girls who prefer the good guys and the bad guys. I totally understand that, and the girls who like the wild, rebel boys with like Jacob, but regardless it always been Edward.
And I don’t think he faded after Twilight, he may have to you, but before the movies came out, it was all about Edward. Taylor Lautner and his delicious body made more fans Team Jacob.
Tammy commented on Dec 22 10 at 11:23 pmBefore any one judges Jacob or Stephenie Meyer’s books, they have to read them first. You can not judge what you do not know.
Secondly, there are several difficult “concepts” that are in the book BD that would be hard to deal with in the movie BD. However, from what I have read, they are coming up with some very creative and clever ways with dealing with these issues that will make the movie a good one.
Some of them even improve on the book itself, which is awesome. And finally NO Jacob is NOT a pedophile. That is ridiculous.
Canadian mom commented on Dec 23 10 at 10:34 amdefinitely creepy. I agree with Team Black above. Jacob brings Bella to life, and I wish they would get together.
quandrara nelms commented on Dec 23 10 at 1:13 pmthey really like eachother but not more that edward
Canadian mom commented on Dec 24 10 at 12:24 pmme again… well, I know the movie script can be a little different than the book, so I would love it if they could continue the tension between Bella and Jake. And it would be wonderful if the imprinting implied being a father/brother-figure for Bella’s daughter rather than a romantic soul mate in the end. This would avoid all of the weirdness.
PS – for the record, I never blog but this has been a great distraction from my PhD. Totally ridiculous!
sara commented on Dec 25 10 at 9:20 amis super film
prp commented on Dec 27 10 at 11:47 pmI don’t see why PPL think it’s creepy for Jacob to fall for Bella’s child when Edward is almost 100 and Bella’s is 18. Is it because he dose not look that old? Jacob will only be 17 yrs older then her VS 60 +
Either way it’s a book not real life and There Vampires and werewolve’s I think Jacob’s part is sweet and I hope he end’s up with someone Bella’s strings him along to much.
jessica commented on Jan 01 11 at 4:55 pmSUPER CREEPY!!! ugg I can’t believe he did that. When I read that in study hall I nearly through the book across the room.
