CBS you just made a HUGE mistake. You have lost my husband and myself. We really dislike the new additions. Harry is a class act and the best announcer on the morning shows. Maggie and Dave were fantastic with Erica Hill. What are you thinking, obviously you aren’t!! I agree with the other people, I will be watching your competition. Maggie I miss your class act. You did a great job! Dave, you are irreplaceable!! Harry I guess we will have to look forward to seeing you again on the Sunday morning show. You bring class and wonderful delivery to anything you do.

Wow! Hope CBS is happy with the outcome. I think getting rid of Maggie Rodriguez and Dave Price is a huge mistake. Although Mr Price was not the most attractive weatherman(Sam Champion holds that honor)he was by far the most entertaining weatherman of the three morning shows.
I have never been very fond of Harry Smith as a cohost on The Early Show. A nice man, I’m sure,he comes across as bland and not very lively when you are preparing to go to work or begin your daily activities. Maggie Rodriguez could provide that early morning pep that we need but it appears that she made the mistake of dimming her light so that Mr Smith’s light could look brighter. Perhaps that was a decision made by network executives.
The early show needs spunk and vitality and until that happens maybe it wasn’t who was doing the show but how it was being done.
At any rate,good luck CBS! I hope Santa brings you what you are looking for.

I’ve always loved the Harry, Maggie, Dave team and watch them everyday. I will now watch the Today Show. Shame on you CBS…..don’t even know who those new people are and don’t care!!!!

Was very saddened to hear this morning that Dave Price was leaving the show and learning that Maggie and Harry were being replaced too. I missed the original announcement. I guess CBS like so many other Companies now days thinks of only the “young” and not those of us who are older and who truly watch the shows. I hope Harry, Dave and Maggie find great jobs where they are appreciated. You have lost another view CBS.

My wife and I will say goodbye to CBS and the early show. Without Harry,Dave and Maggie there is no show. The big shots in CBS evidently don’t check the ratings. ABC hear we come.

Wow this sucks. I have watched them for years and now they are gone. What a big mistake CBS has made. They tried to get move viewers but looks like it is going to back fire and lose more view. These three people gave us the stories honestly without bias, and showed us the world. The perspective they brought made us feel part of a “Larger Family” through the eyes of CBS. Big mistake. My wife and I used to switch between Harry Smith and Co, on CBS and Dianne Sawyer on ABC, but when she left we exclusively watched Harry , Dave and Maggie. Well we no longer will watch either but will go to NBC (Matt and Vierra) or CNN or FOX. I do not have a clue what you guys and gals were thinking.

Just found out about the firing of Harry, Maggie and Dave when I saw Dave farewell this morning. How sad! This is a huge error. They have lost me as a viewer. CBS should go out to the morning program business. The steady decline of CBS new has accelerated. Looks like its the Today Show or maybe BBC America or ????? Harry and Dave were great together.

I grew up with Walter Cronkite. He was a man that my father felt he could trust. I feel the same way about Harry Smith. Most journalists are extremely biased but I truly felt that Harry Smith would give us the truth. My wife and I have been CBS morning show watchers for years, but right now I just feel like it is time to move on. I will take a long hard look at Fox but I’m done with CBS.

Without Maggie, Harry and Dave I will no longer be tunning into the Early Show! I could not possible be that disloyal to the best morning staff I have enjoyed for years. It is not the writting staff that made that show, it is their personalities. I guess I will stick to the local news or NBC in pinch. These three have a lot going for them and I am sure they will land on their feet, but it is US, the public that are missing. Good to have relatives in the business to keep TRYING to keep the early show going, but I doubt that it will work. You lost my rating.

I was so disappointed to find out that CBS was firing of all 3 of their morning show host. I think that that decision by CBS will truly be regretted. Their were very real, sincere and down to earth people that I could relate to. Lost a viewer on that decision.

Who is home to watch the Early shows???? Yes, us older folks and we do not want to watch someone else….Harry, Maggie and especialy Dave are the BEST morning hosts.

I have no plans to watch the Early Show without Harry Smith. I would rather watch paint dry than to watch Jeff Glor and watching Chris grates on my last nerve. Honestly, I’m surprised they would replace Harry and Maggie with these folks. I’ve been a viewer of that show through thick and thin….all of the numerous changes over the years. However, I’m done now and will be switching to another morning show. Harry Smith is beloved by viewers, by all the people he interviews….celebrities and just “normal” people. He is a real professional in every way and truly knows his interviewees well. Most importantly, he comes across as being very warm and caring…he has a real connect with people. I’ve seen Jeff and Chris numerous times when they filled in and also on the weekends. Without a doubt, they won’t come close to filling anyone’s shoes. Big mistake by CBS…..

Harry Maggie and Dave were the only truly class act on morning news. Professional, intelligent and entertaining. Not all your viewers are interested in flash and glam. You’ve made a big mistake CBS. Viewers will be leaving you in droves. They were the dream team, and will be truly missed. Good luck guys. Wish you all much success with an employer that realizes what they have when they have you.

I absolutely am discussed with cbs. They have been making some awful decisions in the last 2 years. Dismissing Harry, Maggie, and Dave that is not very smart business. I will not wats the earley show again. Also, I would really like to know where they are going. Harry is a real reporter someone who cares and loves his job. It was his family. Maggie hasn’t even been with the show long. Dave what can I say love this man. Ratings lets watch them fall. The people they replaced with are boring. Saturday morning show has always been very pathetic. You need to look back on your decision with shame and embarrasment.

I understand ratings, but what about the thousands of people that made Harry, Maggie and Dave a part of our family and our morning routine? They will all be greatly missed. I was drawn away from NBC and the today show when Katie Couric left by Harry Smith’s down to earth presentation. He could be believed no matter the segment’s subject matter. Maggie offered a great personality and was easily loved as a tv personality. And Dave Price was just full of adrenaline and always seemed to give 110% to what ever he was doing… I will miss them and doubt I will watch the Early show after January, 2011. I truly hope that whoever made this decision loses their job, because it makes no sense and should show a decrease in viewers, not an increase.

I used to look forward to the early show. Harry, Dave and Maggie made that show. I will be watching the competition now. Just another poor decision by CBS. what the BELL are they thinking.

I am very upset that the TEAM is gone. CBS really made a goof this time. When I watch the news in the morning, I have about 30 minutes before going to work to sit with my wife and have a cup of coffee to watch the news. Harry, Dave and Maggie helped me start the day. Harry knows his stuff and Maggie was his right hand. Dave gave me a laugh and also showed me what a professional man could wear and still be in style. Chris, Jeff, and Erica are the new kids whom I also enjoyed. They were a family. CBS you have broken up the family. NOT A GOOD MOVE. I watch Sunday Morning. At least I can see Harry there when he fills in.

Simple Fix…You fired the best morning news team ever, they just plain jelled together, NOW…we are firing you, channel 4…you have messed with some real good big time programs. You have got to be kidding me! Obviously, the person(s) responsible for making this idiotic decision are far less intelligent than the viewing audience that watched the early Show to see the cast that was fired.

As with many viewers, my family and friends were avid fans of the fired cast, them being the only reason we watched the show. Not only are we vacating that time frame but we have rallied to pledge to exclude “any” CBS show from our TV schedule. Think of the number of viewers that feel the way we do but won’t waste the time to tell you so.

If there is just one person in your organization with some marketing savvy and common sense you should have included them in on your decision-making process!

We watched The Early Show every morning; watched being the operative word. The new anchors may be younger, but they have blah personalities. Harry, Maggie, and Dave had charisma and a great rapport with each other. We especially liked Harry. CBS WHAT were you thinking?

Good bye Early Show! So you want a younger audience. Good Luck! We retired old folks know how to use a remote control and find another station–in a hurry. Do you expect the younger folks to quit what few jobs are left in this country and stay home to watch another one of your screw ups? I think not as who is going to support their families?

Like most everyone else here, I also cannot get “into” the new hosts. Maggie, Harry and Dave made the Early show and now, to say the least, it is not the same and that means, it is missing Maggie, Harry and Dave. I switched from GMA over a year ago because it was TOO LEFT WING FOR ME, to the Early show which is still left wing but did not politically promote one side as much as the other. They were ALMOST equal at times. Today show has been out of my life for years. I will give them (the new Early Show) a full month in January but if it is not acceptable to us, will switch to FOX and see real news.

SO SORRY YOU MADE THE DECISION FOR RATINGS AND NOT FOR THE PUBLIC’S ENTERTAINMENT but I guess the bonus’ for management mean more than what the public wants.

I’ve been watching the CBS Early Show for years. I loved Harry, Maggie and Dave … and with their departure, will stop tuning into CBS and switch to the Today Show. They were such a wonderful trio: Harry, with his calm, insighful commentary; Maggie, with her beautiful smile and warmth; Dave, what a gem … his sense of humor and humanity. When Dave bid goodbye, he turned the camera to the people behind the camera, thanking them for the years. He ended by saying, “I am heartbroken.” So am I.

REALLY CBS?? You let a top notch, well known, distinguished professional like Harry Smith go?? Wow…seems like a really stupid move to me. And Dave was awesome, popular and very good at his job, and I also enjoyed Maggie, even though she had not been on as long. I will be tuning out….

Looks like I’ll be watching CNN in the mornings now. I really think Harry was the face and voice for the Baby Boomers – that’s probably one of CBS’s largest morning audiences. You’ve really made a big mistake here………….

You replaced Harry Smith with the guy that does the Saturday Early Show? Wow, what a mistake. I watched NBC on the weekends because of Chris Wragge, guess I’ll be watching them seven days a week instead of two!

I have enjoyed Harry Smith, Dave Price and Maggie for years. I cannot believe that you would replace them! They were a wonderful team to start the day with. It sounds like you need to replace management for making such lousy decisions. I watched NBC for years until Jane Pauley left, at which time I switched to CBS. I will now switch back to NBC. This STINKS!!!

The highlight of my day was having my morning coffee and watching the early show. Harry smith was down to earth and cared about familes ,Dave Price made me laugh ,Maggie was smart and funny . When I get out of bed now I had soon to go to CNN to get the morning news and go to work . So thanks alot for taking my tv family away here in the winter. Iwill miss them dearly.

We will certainly miss Harry and Dave, especially Harry. There are very few news anchors that you can use the phrase “he has class”, and you could certainly say that about Harry. Not sure what CBS is doing but frankly I think they have made a major mistake, unless they plan to replace Katie and put Harry in her place…sorry Katie. My family has been crushed by the news of losing Harry. I am a 29 year old mother of three and we religiously watched every morning specifically to see Harry with his honest, light-hearted humor. We will never forget Dave’s “No Way Home” hitchhike that started a nationwide winter jacket drive. My husband, 32, has vowed to NEVER watch this morning show again and says that Harry was the only reason he ever watched. CBS has made a huge mistake, this morning show can never be matched. We don’t subscribe to satellite programming, so CBS is the only news we can get in the mnorning. Now, we would rather watch PBS or nothing at all.

I will miss Harry and Dave especially during Halloween lol!! Is that why Julie got her own show her husband was gonna fire everyone come the new year? I wont be watching either anymore:(

Harry, Dave, and Maggie were the best! My husband and I have watched The Early Show for years and although we loved Hannah and Rene,Maggie stole our hearts. I cannot believe the execs have thought this through. Sounds like yuppies educated beyond their capacity. I enjoyed watching and listening to Harry, Maggie and Dave. Dave always put a smile on my face and many times an outright laugh. What energy he has. Maggie and Harry were just really a pleasure to watch while getting ready to head to work. Erica Hill is ok. I have never been one to watch, or even enjoy the news for that matter. However, I have been watching Harry, Maggie, and Dave for the last 8 years because of their chemistry. I would look forward to The Early Show on a daily basis. Since Maggie and Dave have been gone in the recent weeks, the show has not been the same. I do not believe the new team will have the impact in which producers are hoping for. It is quite clear to me that there are disgruntled viewers who feel the same as I. I ask myself if I will accept this change and the only answer out of my mouth is ‘no.’ Again , since parts of the team have been gone the show has not been the same; I have not looked forward to watching as I used to. Thousands may not respond here, but, I have a hunch that they will simply stop watching as I have done. I honestly do not believe the new team is the team for the future. I wish Harry, Dave and Maggie the best of luck: if the three of you could form a new morning show I will gladly watch :)

Well just thought everyone was on vacation for Christmas. WRONG! Saw Dave leave and thought it was his choice. Never got that they were fired till I went looking today. CBS have you lost what little bit of sense you got!!!!!! Well I can watch Fox news all time now. TheEarly show was the only other news we watched except our local news. Tomorrow is my last day to watch the CBS Early Show as well. I watched this morning with some of the new people – they have absolutely no personality and whoever the weathergirl is she definitely has trouble thinking on her feet as well as no charisma. Someone needs to learn how to make decisions or perhaps that person needs to be gone.

This is not the way to increase ratings–you have lost this viewer. The cast was the reason that CBS was my morning choice. They’re gone, I’m gone.

I love and respect Harry Smith. I’ve watched CBS this morning for 30 years. I’m moving to Today.

My family is so sad that Harry, Dave, and Maggie will not be on the early show any more!!! They made the Early Show very interesting and made it lots of fun to watch the news. It is the first thing that we do in the morning as we want the current news as it happens. There is a real bond with the 3 of them, they made the news fun. I hope that Maggie and Dave all the best…it will be great to watch Harry on the Evening news. This is not the way to increase your ratings!!! They were the reason we watched the show!!!! Since they are no longer there!!! MY FAMILY IS NO LONGER WATCHING YOUR SHOW.

I too am sad about this news! I know adults don’t take change very well but this is not good. I believe with so many others that have spoken out that the problem with this show was not the people that you let go but the people behind this show, the producers!! The news casters do what the producers ask of them, so who should be fired!! If you are worried about the younger generation watching,well I can tell you they don’t have time to watch your show anyway. Their world doesn’t revolve around the news they are too busy trying to make the news. The older generation, they do care about the news and enjoy watching those that really seem to care about their jobs. Harry, Maggie and Dave are those people. They showed feelings! The new ones just bring the news and nothing else. You made a BAD discision!! I want to say THANK YOU, Harry, Maggie and Dave for making the news forth watching. I wish many wonderful things for these 3 people, Harry, Maggie and Dave.

Well once again CBS has made a mistake in my opinion. I watched this channel faithfully because of Harry Smith. additionally the same channel in the west fired John Kessler and I quit watching that show as well as I will quit this show. Since I hate the Channel 3 folks I guess I am stuck with local news and that is becoming dismal due to all the terminations.
Someday maybe the big channel folks will actually poll the people, not the numbers, as to why people actually watch a show.

We thought NBC was the station of screw-ups but looks like somebody has been taking lessons from them. I truly believe changing the Early Show staff is a big mistake and I think time will prove it. Guess our only option now is ABC or maybe just kind of ignoring TV altogether.

This is insane. Why would you take the only thing that gets me to watch The Early Show and fire him??? Harry Smith is an awesome broadcaster. The only strategy that would work out of this situation is move him to the Evening News and let us enjoy the closest thing we will get to replacing Walter Conkrite. As for Ms. Maggie…will not miss her at all. She was always trying to out do Harry and she was way out of her league. Liked Dave alot and will miss him. As for the Saturday Bunch replacing our weekday morning crew….ain’t going to happen….Boring City. It was a nice run but I’m off to CNN or one of the other National channels. Who was the brainstormer, who decided to replace Harry, Dave and Maggie?
This was a really bad decision. I thought Harry was sick and Dave on vacation.
During this time I thought, geez the news is BORING without the normal crew.
You had a great group and you decided to go younger, I’m not watching anymore! Bring them back!

I recently learned of the firing of the Early Show trio. I know change is imminent, but to fire all three? I don’t know if I’l ever watch the show again. I looked forward to the show each day. Harry and Maggie were very proficient in delivering the news, and Dave the weather and a spoonfull of humor just when it was needed. I’ll miss the three of the together and wish them the best. Maybe I can get used to watching Robin Roberts on ABC.

I had decided something was going on when Julie Chen left and went to The View. Since her husband is the pres/chair of CBS she was able to get another job and probably knew this was going to happen.

When Maggie wasn’t around I didn’t know what had happened. Then no Dave.
Since I just found out this AM I could’t believe it. Harry was a trouper and did AM and PM news tonight for Katie Couric. Class act!

Speaking of Katie, she is also gone from her desk too much so this must mean she is getting ready to be replaced and you will hire someone and pay them much less money then a seasoned veteren. The people you have hired are OK as I have seen them, except for the weather person. HOWEVER, I ALSO WILL NOT BE WATCHING THEM. I deleted my recordings tonight and will be going to another station also, come Monday morning. SORRY YOU LOST ANOTHER VIEWER.

Time to turn the channel from CBS 5. Us baby boomers what a SEASONED newscaster and a family man/team with Harry, Maggie and Dave. I will no longer view CBS 5- Chris W, has slicked back hair, so impersonal and stuck on himself. CBS really blew it this time! Harry was the best thing they had – the new team can’t even present the news or do interviews! What in the heck were they thinking. Good luck to you Harry, hope to see you on another channel that appreciates your years in the business and good bye CBS 5. No, I won’t watch. Put Harry fulltime on CBS Sunday Morning. Have never liked Charles Osgood much. It is ALWAYS better when Harry substitutes!!!!!

The only reason I watched it was to see Dave, Harry and Magie so I guess I’ll go to another station Like Fox. Sorry you messed that up.

I did not generally watch morning news until I began watching the CBS Morning Show, with Harry, Maggie and Dave. They are regular people who soke directly to regular people. Now with CBS’s new glitzy team, CBS can not count on me to be a viewer. I wish Harry, Maggie and Dave the best, and I hope that they seek roles with the other networks and will be treated better. As for CBS’s brass, to hell with them.

WoW this is very sad and I hope that all the loyal fans of Harry, Dave, and Maggie will truly support them by NOT EVER watching The Early Show again! We opened our homes and hearts to them every day, they will be missed!

Harry Smith is the ONLY reason that I watched the CBS Early Show! With him gone, I will watch NBC’s Today Show instead! Why did CBS make this ridiculous decision?

I will not watch the CBS Early Show now. I have been saddened about the cancellation of several shows in the last 2 years. I still can’t believe that my two soaps, Guiding Light and As The World Turns, are gone. I do not watch the shows that replaced them and I will not watch The Early Show any longer. Way to go CBS.

I am at a loss without Dave and Harry this morning. I too watched every morning with a cup of coffee. I will especially miss Dave – loved his quick humor and everything about him. I have never seen a better weatherman in my 49 years. Wouldn’t miss Katie Couric.

I agree with everyone else! This was a great morning show with friendly faces and good, informative news. I think CBS is going to realize they were trying to fix something that wasnt broken. To Harry, Maggie and Dave, you will all be truely missed and good luck to you in the future!!!
Bad move CBS and time to find a new morning show….

CBS had the best morning show with Harry, Dave and Maggie and didn’t know it. The poor ratings were not because of this team. Perhaps you need to look at the ones who produced or planned the show. I think CBS needs to bring Harry, Dave and Maggie back and then I shall return to watching the Early Show on CBS.

I am so very disappointed in CBS, for letting Harry,Maggie and Dave go from The Early Show, they were the reason my husband and I would watch. After seeing them say their goodbyes, they brought tears to my eyes. I really loved them the way they worked as a team. I also like Erica Hill, but without Harry, Dave, and Maggie,The Early Show will never be the same. My husband and I will no longer be watching. I will miss drinking my morning coffee with my favorite show.

I have not watched The Early Show since Harry Smith left. It is unbelievable that he would be replaced. He has the best interview style on television news today. His sincerity comes across.

And, Dave Price has a great sense of humor. He will be missed as well.

Network television makes such incredibly poor decisions. It’s no wonder that cable TV shows are doing so well.

I was upset when CBS ditched Harry back in 1996 and stopped watching CBS programming. Harry was the only reason I went back to watching the Early Show. I do hope at least CBS is smart enough to put Harry in charge of the the Sunday Morning News. He is as good as Charles Kuralt was. I can’t stand Charles Osgood (seems not to realize there is life outside Manhattan).

Harry Smith was amazing! He visited Nashville and showed up at our local news station just to say hi. I loved the Early Show and was a loyal fan! Keywords loved and was. I won’t be watching the show any longer. Harry, Maggie & Dave made the show. You take away the key players and what’s left, nothing! Wow! I know I am just catching up but have been asking since the “takeover” what the heck happened?!?!?! I am unbelievably dissappointed in the network for these firings and will most certainly stop watching now that I have learned this. I have watched the early show for 10 years. CBS has made a mistake that can not be fixed. I think the morning crew now is horrible and I have now switched to fox. Why get rid of something good way to go cbs and now your viewers go.

I just discovered that the morning show group has been replaced. I couldn’t figure out why Harry, Maggie and Dave were not on this week. Now I know. VERY BAD MOVE cbs. I’m gone just like the millions of others. ABC here I come tomorrow.

What a huge disappointment the CBS morning show is!
The reasons that I watched were named Harry and Dave! The execs must be agists! And not very good judges of personality-
At least the Today show has retained that valuable mix of good people for me to watch. My mornings will be lacking from now on. Perhaps OWN can start a new early show. I know that a few great personalities are free out there for it.

The writing is on the wall, Folks. Network TV is starting to go down the tubes and the brass at CBS is just throwing darts at the wall to see what sticks. Firing Harry Smith after all his years on that show is supposed to “boost ratings?” Where is the logic there? Face it network execs, 5 years from now, their won’t be “network TV” as we know it today. Cable and the Internet are the future; you can take that to the bank! If I worked for a network, I would start looking for a new job NOW! Harry, it’s probably a blessing in disguise they canned you. Look for work on cable or the Internet. ;-)

Harry Smith was the only reason I watched as I trusted his journalism as he always was unbiased in his reporting political and otherwise. I will watch another news channel in the morning from now on. I was hoping he had moved to another network. Sorry to hear he stayed with CBS. I watched the first broadcast of the show by accident and it was horrible. Oh well the economy has affected all.

Turned on the Early Show this morning and they were introducing new anchors. What? Where’s Harry? I watched him when he was in Denver. I’m not happy and from the impression I have read from all the comments, not many are happy. I won’t be watching the Early Show anymore. Guess I have to go to the Today show. The network execs made a big mistake.

I’ve been a fan of Harry Smith for years, beginning with his show “Travels with Harry”.

I will not watch The Early Show without Harry Smith. His easy-going, laid-back style was comforting to watch in the morning. He was an intelligent interviewer. His wit and charm cannot be matched by any of the new Early Show anchors.

I will sorely miss watching Harry in the morning. I put Harry Smith in the same category of anchors with Charles Kuralt and Charles Osgood….comforting and interesting to watch.

I have watched the morning show because of Harry ,Dave , and Maggie . I wish CBS luck as I am changing to NBC .

What I want to write would be repeating so much of what has been said already in the other comments. I will add that I agree with them, and that I wonder just who the person in charge of decision making thinks watches the early network shows. Watchers are mostly retired people who have the time to sit down with that extra cup of coffee and watch! We were comfortable with Harry’s wit and stability to handle any situation, Daves’s humor and expertise in weather announcing, and Maggie’s beautiful smile and “class”. They made us feel like “family” and now, you have taken away that familiarity that I believe most Americans enjoyed about The Early Show. You have made a big mistake. I believe ratings will go down…not up. We who watch the morning shows enjoy announcers who actually take time to enunciate their words, not speed-talk. If they MUST speed talk to get everything in, then perhaps you are trying to cover too much and should stick to newsworthy pieces and what is important to most older Americans (do not try to bring in the younger crowd….they already have too many shows to entertain them now…leave something for us).

Big Mistake!! The new faces are awful, talk way too fast, and are really boring. Therefore, I’ll be watching something else. Harry, Maggie and Dave were a great team, kept your interest and made getting up in the morning easier. They always had something great to say at the start of the day. I wish nothing but the best for them. CBS your morning ratings are going to the dogs, I don’t know what you where thinking!!

I was faithful to this morning show because they delivered news in a professional but yet sincere and entertaining fashion. There was nothing phony about any of the anchormen or women. It is clear that CBS’s motto is out with the old and in with the young and in this case I believe that was not a good decision. The new characters are just that characters. They have no depth and their interviewing skills are aweful. It is clear that they do not truly care or have a passion for news. In the past few says, they have cut guests off while they were speaking and ask they continue to ask unreleated meaningless questions. I thought I would give them a shot this past Monday but I was disappointed in just the first few minutes they were on air. It is the begining of a new year and of course viewers have goals and resolutions. Viewers wake up in the morning and it is new start for them they want to hear positive affirmations on the news about diet and health. Instead, they hear Chris Wragge giving statistics about how most people fail followed by several other VERY negative comments. To be honest, I don’t think I have heard one positive thing come out of his mouth since he has started.

And talk about not being real…..Marysol…really who could ever say your name the way you pronounce it? I think that is a little extreme and to be quite frank it’s kind of annoying. The new team may be young, in shape and flirty but that is not why folks tune into your morning show. Big Mistake CBS!!!

I bet NBC is really glad to see you make such a big mistake, it was a joy to watch Harry / Dave Price /I really enjoyed Dave weather forecast & Harry new just how to interview people without making them mad at him /I have seen Maggi {insult} some people so many that was not so bad, but you sent Dave out on a long trip with no money to speak of, and he had a hard time getting home then you Fire him, that was raw nothing like I had never seen before,you know I think CBC is going down hill fast even the local network CBS has really went down hill as well on Sunday nights we used to watch CSI Undercover Boss but it got to where were running them so late that we stop watching them as well I am sorry you are having so much trouble, but one good thing that since you started all this stuff we have found a lot of other channels to watch,well maybe that’s what you wanted all a long if so you gotta, because we are watching shows that we never watch before and they are good with less Interruptions so long you were good while you lasted.

Having been in the hospital I did not know that Harry and Dave had been replaced. I thought they were on holiday vacation. I have been so disappointed with the new team and waiting for Harry and Dave to come back. Big Mistake CBS. The new team is hard to listen to….do not like their persona. I definitly will be tuning out CBS morning show. 65 year old viewer.
This Baby Boomer is gone. The banter with the new team is like listening to a bunch of giggly women that turns me off.

I will no longer watch The Early Show now that its mainstay HARRY SMITH is no longer there to brighten my day. Harry Smith always had the perfect way of delivering the news, whether with compassion or humor whichever the subject required. Harry Smith is a real gem in this capacity, can’t believe what you were thinking. I have hoped for a long time that he would permanently replace “Katie” in the evening news spot as I went to NBC’s evening news when she arrived. Hope to come back to CBS morning or evening with Harry in the mix somewhere.

This is another example of network bias against age and sophisticated talent. I am disappointed and will no longer watch this show. The newcomers are nowhere near Harry’s class and exceptional ability. Dave and Maggie deserve better treatment than this, as does Harry. I hope some other network recognizes their worth and rewards them with employment that fits their exceptional abilities.

I am definitely boycotting! I watched the new crew the first morning just to give them a chance, but it was horrible! I can’t imagine how CBS could make such a stupid decision! Who the heck are they playing to with this new team? I can’t imagine that any mature adult would find them interesting and the young crowd is either still sleeping, reading the news on their iPhone or on Facebook in the morning. I couldn’t stand Erica Hill on CNN and then she showed up on CBS. Ugh! She is just too full of herself. The guys are okay, but this group just isn’t what I want to see in the morning. I like to slowly ease into the morning, not get smacked in the face first thing with all of that perkiness. So far I’ve tried GMA and the Today show and didn’t especially like them either. I’m trying CNN tomorrow morning and if that doesn’t work I’ll probably go back to radio or maybe I’ll head to work earlier. Nah…I’ll surely find something I want to watch! Or maybe CBS will have come to their senses by then and begged Harry, Maggie and Dave to come back. I can at least hope for that!

What a mistake…No more Early Show for me!

The Early Show no longer appeals to me. I got up each morning to watch
Harry Smith and Maggie and Dave. They made the show. I think CBS has
fired the wrong people.

I am so disappointed in what CBS has done by letting Harry, Maggie and Dave go. They are the reason why we watched the Early Show. Now there is no reason to watch it! I guarantee that this will not improve the ratings. I agree. . .CBS has fired the wrong people!

I especially agree with the comment that a village somewhere is missing it’s village idiot. That idiot need to return to his village. My wife and I religiously watched the Early Show every morning because of Harry. Maggie and Dave made a great team with him. Harry brought credibility to every news and interview. If the Village idiot producer who made the change thinks that a new younger anchors will attract the ” younger” viewers, he Is sadly mistaken. Doesn’t he realize that they are all on their way to work and not watching any morning show? This move smells of age discrimination. If this was a Vegas bet, CBS will be losing big time. We will not be watching the Early Show any more. We’ll be switching to Telemundo. Buena Suerte Harry, Maggie and Dave. We miss you.

I have tried to watch the new ones, and Hill is ok. The guys are bland and too young to really care, like Harry and Maggie always seemed to. And that other girl, good grief, she is over the top. At least Hill portrays confidence, but what’s-her-face thinks she is the best thing going. She is so annoying. I am not watching any more. It is not worth the electricity. I really, really miss seeing them in the morning, and I agree it is age discrimination, at least in part. It was bad enough losing Tom Brokaw in the evenings, but Harry, how could they? What a stupid idea.

I’ve heard of freak accidents with one person “bumping their head” but a whole network?????????????????? That is more than a little hard to conceive of……………..I wish CBS a quick recovery soon before all of their viewers have moved on as this is one time I definitely believe that their mistake is irreversable. Chemistry contains elements that, when changed, just don’t mix!!!!

What a big mistake as is obvious by all the comments. We tried watching the new show hosts but found it very boring. We miss Harry, Maggie and Dave ! We are hoping another network with some actual knowledge what a great team they were will pick them up. We used to watch every morning now we are searching for ANY other channel to watch.
This reminds me of the Leno v Conan fiasco. Maybe with any luck who ever made this decision will get there head out of the sand and beg them to come back before it is too late!! Right now it looks like they are losing a lot of viewers and I am sure many more are unhappy. Goodbye CBS it was a very good time but its over.

Just found out today for sure what happened to my favorites on the Morning Show on CBS…..very upset….am a faithful watcher since my retirement 10 years ago…but no more. Harry, Dave & Maggie were the best in my book, being a Missourian, I have to be “Shown” and the new ones don’t show me much. Will probably sleep in from now on. From my view point, this show is doomed for failure, I never watched it on Saturdays when the now new crew was on, so I guess you know where that leaves me. I wish Harry, Dave & Maggie “the best”, hope they get bigger and better audiences in their new places where ever that might be. Thanks for letting me “vent”.

I won’t watch the Early Show anymore. Harry, Maggie & Dave were the
reason I watched. I’ll switch over to ABC.

For days I kept thinking I was having a bad Dream. How can you do this again.
For years I have watched the morning show even with the small switches in people.
But this is the last straw. when I’m watching the news in the morning getting ready for work I want to want hear from old friends who I believe in. Believe it or not not everybody who watches the morning news in the milleneum age group. Some of us Baby Boomer are still working and running the show!!

Unfortunately, this is just another age prejudice move, as we continue to view most stations youth is where its at. Doubt the new 40 is 30 and so on… This is common in all industries, what happen to valuing wisdom and experience. If one is lucky we will all live to a wiser age and at that point impart that wonderful wisdom to those we love. Good Luck Harry. Goodbye as a viewer.

My husband and I could hardly believe they were let go. Harry, Maggie and Dave are what helps me start my day we will miss them and it will never be the same. I don’t know if you folks are aware on the East Coast,
but CBS is really not well thought of out here in California. several years ago, they did a complete hachett job on Dr. Quinn medicinie Woman. Why you ask? Simply because Jane Seymour is a woman! Not because of the ratings or the show.
I think what they have done by firing Harry Dave & Maggie is really sickining!
The other morning group is ok, but they will never again have the following that they did withv the “Dynamic Three”

I can’t begin to explain the disappointment I felt when I learned Harry Smith and Dave Price had been dismissed from their jobs. I’ll never understand how one can do a good job and still be let go without consideration for the Individual.

What in the world is wrong with CBS? Why don’t they have more respect for people who have served them so faithfully? Why aren’t people allowed to retire. This is no way to treat anyone and I, for one, am finished with CBS and the Early Show. The people they have now, don’t have the wisdom or experience that the other people had. I guess; however, that doesn’t matter.

Very disappointed CBS! Did you ever think it may be the format, not the 3 great anchors on the Early Show. Dave interacted with the Plaza Crowd that sure isn’t done now. With the Baby Boomers starting to retire this year CBS has a captive audience. Harry is needed to anchor the younger ones – Dave and Maggie. For years I had watched the show because of Harry. He was genuine and believeable. The new crew except for Erica are silly. Some of the comments are just foolish. You have lost me as a viewer. Harry should have been the pick over Katie C. for the nightly news long ago. He would have been the baby boomers Walter Cronkite. There are more of us watching the news than the younger generation.

My whole morning is in shambles. Maggie, Harry and Dave are gone and so am I. No more Early show for me.No more CBS. You people must be crazy to break up that team. You deserve the lowest ratings in history which is what is going to happen now!

I can’t believe CBS fired Harry, Dave and Maggie. I loved them! Harry and Dave were so funny. The new group lacks the chemistry that the old group had. What a huge mistake! I don’t wake up with a laugh anymore! Harry, Dave and Maggie will be missed!

Here it is, January 15th, and I still mourn the firing of Harry, Maggie and Dave. I even dreamed of Harry last night and that’s just weird, but he was fired in the dream, too! As other’s have said he was the closest to Walter, Charles Curalt that I can remember (except for Bob Scieffert who will probably be next on Sun mornings)!! i will no longer watch the early show, you have gotten rid a part of our family that we love to tune into every morning, you had to go a cheaper route and now it will cost you dearly in ratings, we miss our family from the mornings, good luck on the ratings i will no longer be watching.

I am so behind on the news I have been watching everyday thinking anyday now they will say something about Harry and the other crew. I decided to do a internet search today and found this article. Iam terribly disappointed and I miss Harry, Maggie and Dave; they were real these people remind me of something from the Stedford wives. There is something so engineered about them it’s almost like they’re not even human but some type of robots all wearing the same color clothes as their background. I am done with the early show. Can you tell me what channel is Harry on now?

I loved Harry, Maggie and Dave. The new anchors are boring. Will switch to a different channel.

Our family, too, has discontinued watching CBS news in the morning. Harry Smith, Dave Price and team were stimulating, intelligent, and incisive..and yes, had a delicious sense of humor.
Shame on CBS.

I could not be more disappointed in CBS. This reminds me of the time when Coke decided to change the formula and it back fired on them. I am afraid this is what is going to happen to CBS. I use to love getting up in the morning to watch the CBS early morning show. Not anymore, I have changed channels and am watching news at another station. There is an old saying “If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it.” CBS has messed up!!!!

BIG mistake!! Haryy was the nice guy next door, the uncle eveybody liked. I could relate to Harry. He was the Early show. I don’t even normally watch the earfly morning shows, but with Harry as host I became a fan. I’ve tried watching the replacements and for me they’re not worth my time. So until you get Harry back (if he will have you) your show will go down the tubes.

Harry Smith gone – well, so am I. I have been a faithful watcher, mostly due to Harry Smith, for many years. Harry is a class act. CBS Early Show will not be the same.

I can’t stand Erica Hill – I liked her on CNN when there was little exposure. Now, her mouth moves faster than the works coming out of it.

Dave, such a fun guy with such a wonderful voice.

What have you done CBS? You just messed up – admit it. You have lost a real fan. I can watch some other network – there is no limit. Thing is, I really loved the CBS early show – I am a little lost.

I quit watching Channel 7 news when Diane Sawyer left, and came to channel 2
CBS and happily found dear Harry Smith,& Dave & Maggie! Harry made people
he interviewed feel comfortable, which was very evident. They began my day with
me and my coffee. They made me feel comfortable & welcome. I laughed with them & cried with them too. You made a BIG mistake getting rid of them!! I never
even HEARD of the BIMBOS that replaced them!!! They are AWFUL!! I really will
never watch your station again. I will be looking for Harry and Dave!! Are you
people sitting on your brains????? I’m GONE!!!!! (And to make it worse!! You did

i have noticed obviously for awhile now that harry smith (who i have been following since he broadcasted with paula zahn), dave price and maggie have no longer been hosting the early show in the mornings. i would watch it every morning before i went to work. i’ve been meaning to search up where everyone has gone to and today i finally remembered.. i can’t believe they would fire a guy like harry smith. he is an icon to me. one of the best news casters out there…if not the best. cbs has made a huge mistake. and now i will become a good morning american fan.

I am very disappointed with the changes to The Early Show. The old crew, especially Harry Smith, were my favorites. I fail to see what the new team brings to the party. I particularly do not like Marysol Castro and the manner in which she handles the weather. There is nothing innovative about what the new team is doing compared to the old team.

i have not had a lot of time to research why harry smith, dave price & maggie are no longer on the early show. while i was on vacation during the Christmas holiday i didn’t watch the morning news. but once i returned to work and my regular routine of watching the a.m. news, i noticed that my favorite anchors were gone. thinking that they were all on another assignment i patiently waited; not enjoying the morning crew at all but tolerating them. but now that i know the truth, i won’t be watching cbs early morning news anymore. what were you thinking cbs? harry is one of the best anchors in news history. dave was entertaining from the very beginning. i didn’t care for maggie but i tolerated her only because of the rest of the team. you need to replace katie couric. but harry, dave and maggie; big mistake. the current staff don’t show much for reporting and are very dry. not much in personality either. you need to rethink this cbs.

The only reason I watched the show was because of Harry Smith…Goodbye!

Harry Smith would be great as co-host with Kelly Rippa! He is distinguished, has a great sense of humor, very talented, and hansom. What more could America want. And yes I’ve stopped watching CBS this morning. You people there are idiots. The old adage “don’t fix what’s not broke” truly fits!

I tried watching the ne Early Show .It is not he same in fact it is lame. I wish the best for Harry,Maggie and Dave.

Wow! talk about the first bad move of the new year! I am sure the new anchors even know how stupid this move was for CBS. Harry, Dave and Maggie were like your favorite levi’s that you would never throw away no matter how old they are because quality never goes out of style. My blessings are to the three of you, God has a better plan for you!
The CBS person who made this derision I am sure will be looking for a new job soon. Most the shows I watch are on CBS and I literally would never change my channel! Now I watch the Today show and I am sure that many will follow my move. CBS DON’T SCREW UP ANY MORE, DON’T EVEN THINK OF GETTING RID OF DAVE LETTERMAN OR I WILL BOYCOTT ALL CBS SHOWS!!!

When Harry, Dave & Maggie left CBS, so did we for the majority of the day. What an untimely & ruthless decision! Do the “big guys & CEO’s” running CBS really know what they are doing? Did you ask your viewers prior to this fatal action? Or doesn’t it matter to YOU??
We hope to be able to follow Harry, Dave, & Maggie where they are; otherwise, it is NBC & ABC for us.

Harry and Dave were the best reasons to watch the morning news. I’m so disappointed that CBS decided to dumb down the show and only cater to the 20 somethings. Good luck with that because I don’t know any 20 somethings that watch morning news. Good bye CBS and I will miss Harry as well as Dave and Maggie. They are a class act and I used to look forward to hearing what Harry had to say every morning. Such an intelligent and trustworthy broadcaster. I wish you on the best. when harry dave and maggie left i gave the new team a chance. after a few days i turned to nbc i’m planning on staying there. sorry new guys nbc is on at my house every morning. WHAT WERE YOU THINKING ?

Years ago when CBS ousted Harry, Paula and Mark all in the name of ratings I quit watching. I was thrilled to have Harry back, but once again CBS has messed up a good thing. My household is no longer watching the Early Show!! Hats off to Harry, Maggie and Dave-Thanks for sharing your mornings!!!!

The new and somewhat younger replacements will never be able to pull off what Harry Smith and gang have done. But honestly, I have not been pleased with the selection of co-hosts for him. Nevertheless, Harry was the main reason I tuned in. But I’m out! I’m switching to FOX news!!!!

CBS, you have really made a big mistake! I can’t believe that Harry, Maggie, and Dave are off of CBS morning show!!! What a huge mistake! I tried watching the Early Show but without Harry and his team it just is not worth watching. The new team is certainly second team and it shows. I am turning to the Today show for my morning news. I feel like I lost part of my family. I wish them all well. SHAME ON CBS!!!!!!!!!

Harry Maggie and Dave had personality. The new people are nice but they don’t have that special something that Harry brought to the show. I know he is very tallented also and should be used for bigger and better things, but my morning is just not the same without him. I felt like he gave insite to all his reporting and the crazy stunts they did on the show where always fun and tasteful. Now I don’t care which show I watch cause news is just news without them.

I cannot watch without Harry and Dave. They made you feel like you could trust what they were saying.The new team are a stuck up bunch. I will be choosing a different morning program. Good-bye guys! Bad move CBS.

I have watched CBS news my entire life, morning and evening. Now, I do not watch morning news anymore. I like Erica Hill, but I HATE HATE HATE the new Early Show. Erica was a nice addition to Harry, Maggie, and Dave, but not a replacement! I do not like the new hosts, I do not enjoy their interaction, and I am not going to try to like them anymore. I am done with the Early Show. I am so thrilled when Harry is on the evening news……if only Maggie and Dave could join him there……..

I don’t seem to echo the sentiments of many of the posters… I have always found Harry Smith to be controlling and self-centered. I watched him shape an election by refusing to let some of the candidates speak about issues that really concerned them. Dave Price, now, that’s a different story. I loved him on the Early Show. He was fun, caring and interesting. Maggie was neither a positive nor a negative. I believe she was a good newswoman, but she spent too much time adoring Harry Smith for some reason and quite honestly talking about issues I have long ago found redundant.

I TRIED WATCHING THE EARLY SHOW WITH THE NEW TRIO. I WILL NO LONGER SPEND MY TIME DOING SO. THERE IS NO REPLACEMENT FOR HARRY SMITH, DAVE PRICE AND MAGGIE RODRIGUEZ. THE NEW SHOW IS LACKING IN STYLE AND INTEREST. THEY ACT LIKE A BUNCH OF KIDS COMPETING AGAINST ONE ANOTHER. MARYSOL IS A SNOB AND SHOWOFF. SHE ALWAYS LOOKS TO SHOW UP CHRIS. I WISH THE EXECUTIVES WHO MADE THE DECISION TO REMOVE THE THREE BEST PEOPLE WILL WISEN UP AND RETURN THEM TO THE SHOW. UNTIL THEN I WILL WATCH EITHER FOX OR GOOD MORNING AMERICA.

I have had so much going on, I am so very far behind. But, I have been wondering what the heck was going on. I looked forward like all of you to the Early Show. NOW, even though the others do a fine a job. It is just not the same without Harry, Maggie and Dave. As much as I love to watch CBS, I am dissappointed with their decisions. I have given the new team a chance and although they do a fine job, it is just NOT the same. Like someone else said, if it is not broken why fix it. Thank you for letting me rant. I’ve tried to watch the “new team” but the professionalism is simply lacking! My coffee just isn’t the same in the morning! I realized how much I missed it when Katie was on assignment and we got Harry back for a few nights – it sure looked like a co-anchor would work, think about it! Harry is now in Tokyo and while he does a good job, he is way above a “roving reporter”. He is a natural follow up to Walter, don’t loose him! Coke admitted their mistake, is CBS “Man Enough” to do the same?

The new image doesn’t entertain me…I’m gone.

I was shocked when I found out that Harry Smith, Maggie Rodriguez, and Dave Price were leaving. They were my reason for getting up in the morning. I liked this team and I am going to miss them. But if you don’t get some color on the morning show, you will continue to show up in last place. You need to take a look at the other networks and take the hint. CBS has been my network forever, but I moving uptown. You need to take a look at what’s going on in your area. Goodnight

I was looking for a place to make a comment about the change that took place earlier this year…and now I have found it. I am sorry to say, just out of habit leaving the CBS station on after the local news…. I do not like this new group… Would you please bring back Harry, Maggie and Dave? geez, now there is good chemistry!

I quit watching The Early Show way back when Harry and Paula left. Returned when Harry came back ! ! Then, we got Dave Price as well. I loved it ! Now look what you’ve done. There were many good comments above. I second all emotions.

I cant believe Harry Maggie and Dave are gone. I tried to watch and I can’t stand Erin. Harry should have gotten the job that Scott pellet got. I can’t stand him either. We do not watch the evening news or the early show. We have moved to channel 4. Also miss Holly on the talk.
