Morgan Freeman Twitter hoax cleared up by CNN
Morgan Freeman dead? If you were to believe the Twitter rumor this afternoon, then you may have felt a moment of panic that Morgan Freeman was dead.
Morgan Freeman is not dead – he is alive and well, but the latest celebrity death hoax did give a bit of a scare.
To make it more legit, the party that started the Morgan Freeman is dead rumor on Twitter said that CNN originally tweeted the news.
It’s since come out that CNN never did post those tweets – nor did they have to retract anything because they never said it.
CNN’s account supposedly tweeted “Breaking News: actor Morgan Freeman has passed away in his Burbank home.”
CNN did eventually tweet the real story: “CNN did not report Morgan Freeman death. Rumor is false. CNN will aggressively investigate this hoax.”
