Julia Stiles denies breaking up Michael C. Hall’s marriage to Jennifer Carpenter.
Rumors had been apparently swirling that Stiles and Hall had an affair that ended their marriage. Stiles, who guest starred on Dexter this season, is rumored to have gotten “close” to Hall.
But Stiles has quickly spoken out against the rumors.
“I have absolutely nothing to do with the split between Michael and Jennifer,” the actress says in a released statement.
“We are good friends and enjoyed working together. This is a personal matter between them, and we should respect their privacy.”
“Although I too prefer to keep my private life, private – I felt compelled to dispel the rumors I was somehow the cause for this matter.”
Hall and Carpenter, who play brother and sister on the Showtime series Dexter, ended their two-year marriage, filing for divorce. They met on set and were married on New Year’s Eve, 2008.
What caused the couple to split?
Whatever happened, Stiles must have felt the need to release a statement so quickly to dispel the rumors.
