"Fast Five" Vin Diesel posts trailer on his facebook page

The “Fast Five” trailer was released yesterday on Vin Diesel’s facebook fan page.  Why did they choose to release it that way? And can we see it if we aren’t fans of Vin’s on facebook?

We usually think of movie trailers on television, in the previews of other movies, on youtube, and on other entertainment websites.

But, the trailer for “Fast Five” was premiered in a different way yesterday: on Vin Diesel’s facebook fan page.

If you visit his page, you will see that he has over nineteen million facebook fans. So, that got the trailer out to that many people who are the target audience: fans of the actor.  Plus, those fans can easily click the “share” button and post to your own wall, causing the trailer to spread even faster.

It makes a lot of sense for the trailer to have been released this way. It might be something that we see a lot more of in the future.
