Alina Kabayeva on Cover of Russian Vogue: Vladimir Putin Mistress?
If you thought politics in the U.S. is dull, wait until you hear this news over in Russia.
The alleged mistress of Prime Minister Vladimir Putin is on the cover of Vogue Russia.
Alina Kabayeva will appear on the front of the January 2011 issue, a decision made by Viktoria Davydova, the editor-in-chief.
The cover features Kabayeva, a professional gymnast and Olympic Gold medalist, wearing a Balmain dress worth more than $30,000.
Kabayeva is rumored to not only have been Putin’s mistress, but also the mother of his love child!
The Prime Minister is married with two children.
A few years ago a Russian newspaper reported that a mysterious wedding had been planned between the two.
Though the rumours of Mr Putin’s relationship with former Olympic gold medallist have been strenuously denied, Davydova has cheekily placed the main cover headline, ‘Her Main Victory,’ between Kabayeva’s legs.
Another fact that leads many to believe the affair is real: Alina Kabayeva’s quick rise to prominence as a MP in the Prime Minister’s United Russia Party.
The 27-year-old Kabayeva won a bronze medal in the rhythmic gymnastics at the Sydney Games in 2000 and bettered it with gold four years later at Athens.
