Hugh Jackman Gets Injured While Filming Oprah

Hugh Jackman was slightly injured on Tuesday while performing a stunt during the taping of the Oprah Winfrey show in Australia.

The Wolverine star was sliding down a cable from the top of the Sydney Opera House toward a giant outdoor stage, but he failed to stop, crashing into the stage’s light rigging and hurting his face.

With his two children watching in the audience and visibly upset, Jackman had blood from a cut above his right eye.

Winfrey rushed to Jackman’s aid before he left the stage to be treated by paramedics.

“I’ve never been hugged by a paramedic,’’ a shaken Jackman laughed before placing an icepack on his eye.

Making light of his injury, Jackman joked, “That was so much fun, until the end.”

Jackman, later sporting a small bandage under his eye, told Winfrey that the excitement of sliding down the cable caused him to brake too late.

“I came down waving to everyone, looking over Sydney Harbour, saw my dad, the kids and you (Winfrey), went to pull the brake and then boing,” he said.

While wiping the Hollywood star’s head, Oprah told Jackman in front of an audience of 6,000 people: “Let’s get some ice otherwise its going to swell.”

Winfrey, with 302 specially flown American guests in tow, is in Australia producing two TV chat shows, with Australian guests such as Jackman, Russell Crowe, Nicole Kidman, Keith Urban and Olivia Newton John.
