Jets Coach Trips Player: Sal Alosi Releases Statement Regarding Poor Sportsmanship (Video)
If you haven’t seen the “Jets Coach Trips Player” video yet, then make sure to take a peek at the video below. Sal Alosi is the Jets Coach who tripped a player in yesterday’s game, leading to an outrage among fans, and a huge embarrassment for the Jets. In the “Jets Coach Trips Player” video, you can clearly see Sal Alosi stick his knee out and trip Dolphins player Nolan Carroll.
Sal Alosi has now released a statement reacting to his display of poor sportsmanship:
“I made a mistake that showed a total lapse in judgment. My conduct was inexcusable and unsportsmanlike and does not reflect what this organization stands for. I spoke to Coach Sparano and Nolan Carroll to apologize before they took off. I have also apologized to [Jets owner] Woody [Johnson], [Jets general manager] Mike [Tannebaum] and Rex [Ryan]. I accept responsibility for my actions as well as any punishment that follows.”
Sal Alosi could lose his job as a Jets Coach for tripping player Nolan Carroll. If nothing else, he’s set a horrible example of bad sportsmanship for young fans. Teaching kids that the only way to win is to cheat isn’t exactly role model behavior for a coach!
