Elizabeth Edwards Funeral – Political Wife to Be Laid to Rest Next to Son Wade Edwards
Elizabeth Edwards’ funeral has been set for Saturday near her home in Chapel Hill, North Carolina.
Elizabeth Edwards lost her brave battle against breast cancer yesterday at the age of 61. Now the details of the funeral for the wife of 2008 presidential candidate John Edwards are being made public.
The Brown-Wynne funeral home has announced that the funeral service will be held 1 p.m. Saturday, December 11 at Edenton Street United Methodist Church in Raleigh, NC. A private graveside service for close family and friends will follow at Oakwood Cemetery. Her final resting place will be at the side of her son Wade who died in a 1996 car accident. A photo of her son was also at her side at the time she passed away.
Her husband John Edwards will be on hand for the services along with the couple’s three children. Elizabeth Edwards funeral is expected to be attended by many of the political crowd with representatives from all branches of government in attendance. In lieu of gifts, the family has asked that memorial donations be made to the Wade Edwards Foundation.
