WATCH: Remember Fraggle Rock? Check Out This Jim Henson Happiness! (VIDEO)
Fraggle Rock was a Jim Henson show that ran for five seasons between 1983 to 1987, being a big puppet/ cartoon hit of the 80s. The show featured a slew of Him Henson’s Muppets that were called “Fraggles.” Jim Henson described the show as being “a high-energy, raucous musical romp. It’s a lot of silliness. It’s wonderful.” The show was a musical romp for sure but it tackled some pretty serious subjects in this allegorical world such as “prejudice, spirituality, personal identity, environment, and social conflict.”
The show was a big hit for The Jim Henson Company just like their other series like Sesame Street and The Muppet Show. But for some reason Fraggle Rock didn’t have the pop culture staying power as the two before mentioned puppet productions.
But maybe now is there time to revisit Fraggle Rockness! Check out some clips from the show below:
