Does Kate Gosselin have any friends?
Even though Kate Gosselin can be thankful for her own reality show and her children, she is “sad and lonely” with no real friends she can confide in.
“The truth is Kate is really sad and lonely with few true friends,” a source close to the celebrity mom told RadarOnline.com.
When would she even have time to socialize? When she’s not taking care of her kids, running errands or filming Kate Plus 8, Kate is taking care of herself. She is usually photographed going to the nail spa or tanning salon, or jogging to keep in shape.
But we never really see Kate hanging out with the girls on a night out, or having lunch with a girlfriend, or even getting together with other family members.
The only person who seems to be a close friend is her bodyguard, Steve Neild. “But he’s married with two kids of his own,” the source said.
“Apart from Steve she does not have many true friends to confide in or just go out and have fun with while she does not have the best relationship with her family either.”
Steve apparently lives in the basement of Kate’s home and accompanies her everywhere. Rumors were flying that the two were dating but they both strongly deny any type of romantic involvement.
Being in the public eye and a mom of eight kids must take a huge toll. “The paparazzi are camped outside her home a lot of the time and often she will just not go out which is sad for her kids too,” the source said.
Even locals in Kate’s neighborhood are not very supportive either. “They don’t think greatly of her and she is not popular at the local stores, post office or car wash, because she cannot win people over and comes across as cold and aloof,” the acquaintance said.
“Kate just finds it hard to be friendly towards people and is very domineering – at the moment she is pre-occupied with looking her best and keeping-up appearances.”
“Kate has money coming in but nobody to share it with – having her own reality show has come with a price for her but ultimately that was her own choice.”
Recently Kate told ET’s Mary Hart that she is looking for the right guy. Hopefully she’ll find him, or at least, some friends to hang out with!
