Royal Tweets! The Queen & Prince Charles Gives Congrats on Twitter
The royals, they’re old school. But the British Monarchy not so caught up in the pomp and circumstance of their heavy historical baggage that they won’t embrace new fangled technologies. And when big things happen theses days, people get tweeting and the British royal family is no exception.
What did Queen Elizabeth and Prince Charles tweet about the big news of the engagement of Prince William and Catherine Middleton?
William’s dad (or his people) under the Twitter account Clarence House wrote:
“The Prince of Wales is delighted to announce the engagement of Prince William to Miss Catherine Middleton.” Yes, delighted indeed.
And not just delighted but “thrilled”, they also tweeted:
“During a visit to Poundbury in Dorset, The Prince of Wales said he is “thrilled” at the news of Prince William’s engagement.”
Prince William’s stepmom also chimed in saying:
“During a London visit today, The Duchess of Cornwall said the engagement is “the most brilliant news – I’m just so happy for them”
And the Queen? She tweeted:
“The Queen and The Duke of Edinburgh are absolutely delighted at the news of Prince William and Catherine Middleton’s engagement.”
“Thrilled,” “Brilliant” and two “delighted,” looks like they have the royal seal of approval.
