Prince William, the second-in-line to the British throne, and his long-time girlfriend Kate Middleton are officially engaged!
Is it possible that the royal couple will be married on July 23, 2011, although a date for the royal wedding has not yet been confirmed.
Last week, bookies were placing bets on the royal wedding. “Whenever we see a flurry of bets we slash the prices because we’re worried that the leak has got out there. It’s clear that if a wedding is on the cards, a lot of people will know about it so it will leak out,” William Hill spokesman Rupert Adams said.
The couple, both 28, are believed to have ruled out the idea of a lavish ceremony at Westminster Abbey or St. Paul’s Cathedral, the scene of Prince Charles’s wedding to Diana.
Instead, they are thought to prefer St George’s Chapel, Windsor, where Charles’s marriage to Camilla was blessed.
An official statement from Clarence House was made on Tuesday morning.
The wedding will take place in the Spring or Summer of 2011, in London. Further details about the wedding day will be announced in due course.
