Glee season 2 episode 7: How did Gwyneth Paltrow do?

Gwyneth Paltrow guest starred on Glee’s season 2 episode 7 “The Substitute”… but how did Gwyneth Paltrow do? Here’s the rundown…

Gwyneth Paltrow guest starred as Holly Holliday, who steps in to substitute for Mr. Schuester, taking over Spanish and glee club when Will is out sick.

Have you ever had a substitute teacher like Gwyneth Paltrow?

So, how did Gwyneth Paltrow do on Glee?

Um… I don’t know if I loved it all.

Gwyneth Paltrow did a fine job with the singing… but I’m not sure if I loved some of her dancing… Overall, I’d say she was pretty good, but I don’t think I’d like to see Paltrow return on a future episode (like, say, Kristin Chenoweth or Idina Menzel!).

In Cee-Lo Green’s “Forget You,” Gwyneth does a pretty good job, except that robot dance move just… no. Just no. Overall, she seemed a bit less than comfortable, but has a nice voice. Watch Gwyneth Paltrow sing “Forget You” in the video clip:

Gwyneth also sang a duet with Lea Michele, with “Nowadays/Hot Honey Rag” from Chicago – she is a tall drink of water, isn’t she?

Finally, Gwyneth Paltrow pulled out all the stops with a mash-up of “Umbrella/Singing in the Rain” with Matthew Morrison. There was some clever choreography here, so you have to give Gwyneth bonus points.
