Antonio Margarito Face: Did Pacquiao Ruin His Face And His Career?
Antonio Margarito’s face took quite a beating in the Pacquiao vs. Margarito live fight last night from Dallas Cowboy’s Stadium that aired on HBO pay per view. Antonio Margarito’s face will require facial surgery, and with last night’s fight, Manny Pacquaio may have also ruined Antonio Margarito’s career, not just his face.
Antonio Margarito will undergo surgery to repair a fractured orbital bone after the injuries he sustained in the fight with Pacquiao. Pacquaio’s trainer, Freddie Roach, is saying that Margarito’s career is likely over after the fight, but his face and career could have been saved if the fight had been stopped by officials.
Manny Pacquiao even tried to get the refs to stop the fight after looking at Antonio Margarito’s face and said, “I told the referee, ‘Look at his eyes, look at his cuts…I did not want to damage him permanently. That’s not what boxing is about.”
We hope that Antonio Margarito’s face will heal and that he will be ok and can continue his career. Moms, if your kids are interested in boxing, you may want to steer them in another direction!
