Watch Matt Lauer Kanye West Interview: West Has Meltdown, Lauer Defends Interview (Video)
Watch the Matt Lauer Kanye West interview in this Today show video clip. Following his interview with Matt Lauer, Kanye West took to Twitter to have a meltdown of sorts, attacking Lauer for his interview questions.
The video clip shows the path of Matt Lauer’s questions and Kanye West’s irritation.
Among other things, Matt Lauer asks Kanye West about his no infamous, “George Bush doesn’t care about black people” comment and the Taylor Swift incident – got no love from Kanye, who seemed irritated and attacked.
When asked about his comment about George Bush, Matt Lauer shows footage of his interview with Bush. Kanye West is none to pleased, saying, “I didn’t need you guys to show me the tape in order to like prompt my emotion to what I’m going to say.” He also said to someone off camera: “be quiet for a second.”
When the Taylor Swift VMA footage was shown, he commented, “Yo, how am I supposed to talk if you gonna run this thing in the middle, while I’m talking?” He added, “Please don’t let that happen again, it’s like ridiculous.”
In his defense, Matt Lauer noted after showing the Kanye West interview, “It’s something we do every day – when a guest is talking about an incident or a location, we run video of that… There was nothing improper about it, nothing unusual about it whatsoever.”
Anyone else thinking Kanye West needs to grow up a little? I know his mom raised him better than that!

Deanna Sanchez commented on Nov 11 10 at 3:22 pmI can not believe this man has the nerve to talk to people the way he does. He is a racist you see it in the way he talks and the way he behaves. He truly has a problem with his ego and needs to remember that minorities have come a long way. We have a black president is that not enough to prove to the world that we are moving beyond oppression? I am tired of black people always using the race card to say what they feel because behind every message they are crying about how they are treated. The fact is that you are treated the way you treat others and you get ahead by looking forward not by hanging on to the past and using it to defend every wrong you do to others. Get over it and be a man. Face it you are lucky to be where you are and if you don’t watch your step Kanye you may ruin your successes by opening your mouth and saying things that come back to bit you! You have a problem controlling your mouth and maybe that is something you need to work on before you are ever in front of live cameras. Because you never seem to be able to say the right thing. Don’t blame the media for twisting things it came straight from your lips. You are responsible for your actions. Grow up and start being a man.
denise commented on Nov 12 10 at 11:46 pmi just want to say that when kanye west first came on the scene, i actually liked his music and thought that he was very talented. however, since that day i first heard his music, he has gotten into so much bull**** all by himself. he just comes across as quite ignorant when he tries to talk, not being able to think (or not knowing)the correct words he is looking for and i have come to the conclusion that he just should be of no interest to us anymore. good luck, kanye. i believe you need it.
Branden commented on Nov 13 10 at 1:00 pmGeorge Bush may very well be a racist, but his failure to act in his leadership role of the post-Katrina debacle clearly showed that he was an idiot, but we knew that already. He is a first class dolt, but the results would have been the same if the majority of the citizens of New Orleans were white. He panicked, just as he did after 9/11 while reading a book to schoolchildren, so while he may or may not be a racist, his actions (or lack thereof) were not racially motivated. Mr. West, however, is a little of both racist and imbicille. He knows that he’s not the sharpest tool in the shed, so he acts irrationally to overcompensate for his lack of intelligence and class. He is smart enough, however to know that when he says or does something controvercial, people pay attention (no such thing as bad press, and all.) So go ahead, people, keep downloading his music, keep giving him arenas in which to spew his ignorant ideals. He’s no different than a beer-swigging, wife-beating, sister-pounding, pointy white hood-wearing, trailer trash honkey from Grenada, Mississippi, except that he has a microphone, and an audience. Take away his audience, and America just might become a little better.
