Watch Marie Osmond on Oprah: Marie Osmond’s Emotional Interview, “Pie Jesu” (Video)
Watch Marie Osmond on Oprah in this video clip, where she talks for the first time about the death of her son. Marie Osmond’s son, Michael, committed suicide in February.
Osmond talks about the last words she said to her son: “When I heard him (Mike) say to me, I have no friends, it brought back when I went through depression because you really feel so alone.”
Maire said, “I told him, I said, Mike, I’m gonna be there Monday and it’s gonna be okay. But depression doesn’t wait till Monday.”
Marie Osmond said her son’s death was “probably the hardest thing I’ve been through.”
She also talks about returning to work just two weeks after his death, noting, “My stage is my safe place. It doesn’t scare me, like I guess it scares some people. And I knew that if I didn’t get back on stage that I may never get back on stage.”
Watch more of Marie Osmond’s Oprah interview at Oprah.com, including a look inside her home, unaired footage of Marie and her son from a 2009 Oprah appearance (such a sweet look at their bond), and a message from Donny Osmond (get your tissues handy on this one – it’s incredibly touching).
Plus Marie Osmond sings “Pie Jesu” on Oprah (video) as a tribute to her son, having to start over because she is so overcome with emotion. Just beautiful to hear her pour her heart into the song.

Cathy commented on Mar 30 11 at 4:04 pmI have listened to several artists sing Pie Jesu, however I prefer Marie Osmond’s slightly deeper and much richer vocal rendition.
