Why Is Mary Hart Leaving Entertainment Tonight?

maryhart 300x252 Why Is Mary Hart Leaving Entertainment Tonight?Mary Hart is a fixture on TV. She joined ET a little after it started and was at its helm for nearly 30 years.

Last August she announced her retirement saying, “I only meant to be at ‘ET’ for three years, suddenly it’s almost 30! I’ve reached a point when I clearly realize it’s time for a change.”

“There are many things I want to do in my life and I’d better get on with them. It will certainly be with mixed sentiments that I say ‘goodbye’ at the end of the season, but it will definitely be with a sense of celebration,” she added.

Mary will be passing the baton to Nancy O’Dell. Sounds like at 59, Mary just wanted to see what else is out there for her.

So Mary Hart is leaving. Let me shed a plastic tear. This is the end of the career of Hollywood’s most uncaring, self-centered, plastic (both emotionally and physically) entertainment reporters. Forced laughter, fake tears (without tears that is), no real human emotion, tabloid-style stories, it was all about her. Missing so many recent programs was a relief for viewers, and apparently the result of all of a botox melt-down. Apparently you can stave off aging for just so long. Don’t get me wrong, this is not meant to be a sexiest observation, but a rather a targeted one. There are plenty of men who should have hung it up sooner as well. But this is a double whammy. Apparently Lara Spencer has seemed depressed on her show because she was shot down for Mary’s job. In the end, all of Mary’s kind words for her successor, Nancy O’Dell, was a nice gesture, even if said through clinched teeth and lips frozen in place by recent injections. Good-by Mary Heartless!

With so many duds like Erica Hill on TV it willbe ashame to lose a class act like Mary Hart. What a relief that Nancy O’Dell will be taking over. We might have been stuck with a pipsqueak like Natalie Morales. Here’s hoping that Mark Steines never leaves ET because if he does he might be replaced with the great- ugh! Kevin Frazier.

What a beautiful person. I wish her the best in her next phase of life. May she be blessed and always remember how much she is loved. She really is part of all families in America. What an accomplishment!!

Mary Hart you really are a class act. And trying to fill your shoes . I wouldn’t wish it on anyone. I hope you still stay in television. I hope we still get to see you in what ever you do. Maybe take over Oprah Show. No that not your style you are better than that. We all have enjoyed you on ET . And may you continue to entertain us. God bless you in your next venture.
