Was Middle School Trick Play Worth The Risk?

Football fans everywhere are buzzing about the “Middle School Trick Play” that took place at a Driscoll Middle School game in Texas. You can watch a video clip of the “Middle School Trick Play ” below to see what all the fuss is about.

Although the middle school quarterback who pulled the trick play move managed to get away with it and scored a touchdown, we can’t help but wonder if it was worth the risk of possible serious injuries. If he’d been caught by the defense, they would’ve pummeled him for sure.

Kids sports seem to be getting more and more extreme, and judging from this middle school trick play, the age at which kids will try risky maneuvers is getting younger and younger.

Let’s hope that Pee-Wee football isn’t the next level to try something like this.

The defence obviously did the correct thing by not hurting the quaterback. Defensive players do not try to kill an offensive player when he is off sides. The offensive coach was expecting the defense to play with commen sense and good sportsmanship. He is teaching his team bad sportsmanship as well as endangering young players. Give the coach another chance, he was clever, but he did’nt think it through. He has probobly learned his lesson.

thank you Mr. “Get a life”. Lets get together and watch some Greatist hits tapes, love to see those broken necks! Maybe we could catch a good dog fight.

It was an ingenious play, that deserves high commendation for its thoughtfulness and execution. However, it will”never” work again!
Football alike any other sport requires knowledge of the rules and vigalance, which did not prevail in all instances of this play. I am hilarious and still clapping. THANK YOU, COACH AND TEAM!!!

No the coach (If it was his idea) did right by the kids. Those that dare win. This is a life lesson and what school should be about. Cheers
