Conan Ratings: Conan’s New TBS Show Tops Jay And Dave!
Take that, NBC: Conan O’Brien’s new TBS show “Conan” drew huge ratings, beating his former employer, NBC, as well as the man who took his place at “The Tonight Show,” Jay Leno. In fact, “Conan” defeated everyone in his time slot, drawing 4.5 million viewers.
By comparison, Leno’s “Tonight” averaged 3.47 million total viewers and CBS’s “Late Show with David Letterman” averaged 3.4 million. And Comedy Central’s “Daily Show with Jon Stewart” averaged 1.3 million.
That has to feel good for O’Brien, a father of two whose late-night return has been much hyped over the past few weeks.
Did you watch the premiere? What did you think? I liked the opening sketch a lot, especially when he told Jon Hamm he was pretty. (He is.)
