5 Reasons Why Will Nick Lachey’s Marriage to Vanessa Minnillo Will Last Longer
On Thursday it was announced that Nick Lachey and long term girlfriend Vanessa Minnillo had gotten engaged. The couple’s reps told US Weekly that they are, “excited and incredibly happy about our engagement and we look forward to a wonderful future together.” And although odds aren’t that great for Hollywood marriages, it looks like Nick Lachey’s upcoming marriage to Vanessa Minnillo will last longer than his marriage to pop songstress Jessica Simpson. Here are 5 reasons why!
- The bride is older. Getting married when really young isn’t always the best thing for still maturing adults in their early twenties. Nick was 29 when he married Jessica, who was just twenty-two. Vanessa is now thirty, a much better age to tie the knot for many.
- Nick and Vanessa aren’t in careers that are on the rise. They have both pretty much hit a plateau. There will be less stress, less Hollywood games, and hopefully more time to be together and maybe work on a family.
- They don’t have a reality TV show. Nick Lachey and Jessica Simpson put their relationship on the air with their series Newlyweds: Nick and Jessica. Although it became a cult favorite with Jessica’s one liners like whether tuna was fish or chicken, the show was cancelled after four seasons and so was their marriage.
- Jessica and Nick were married in October of 2002 and announced their plans to divorce three years later. Three years of marriage shouldn’t be that hard to beat.
- Nick and Vanessa have been together for four years, although they did briefly part way in 2009. Jessica and Nick also dated for four years before they got married but that was described as more “on and off.” Vanessa and Nick are around each other so much that they seem like a married couple already.
Do you think that this marriage will last?
