Shannon Taverez Loses Battle With Leukemia
Shannon Taverez was a beautiful eleven year old actress who played Nala in The Lion King on Broadway. Sadly, Shannon Taverez has lost her battle with leukemia. She passed away in New York City after battling the disease since April.
Shannon Taverez landed the role of Nala in The Lion King in September 2009, but was forced to give up the stage when she was diagnosed with leukemia. Doctors discovered the disease after she began having pain in her legs and lower back.
Celebrities including Rihanna and Alicia Keys reached out to Taverez and helped lead the search for a bone marrow donor, but a match was never found.
Shannon underwent umbilical cord blood treatment and chemotherapy, but ultimately, she succumbed to the cancer.

I am a serious fan of her piece of work and I prayer that she is given
a perfect rest out of what she went through in Jesus name. I love her,
I love what she has done and I’m going to miss her.
