the dark knight movie poster 213x300 The Dark Knight Rises: The Movie Your Kids Will Be Begging to See!It’s official!  There is another Batman movie in the works.  The new flick titled, The Dark Knight Rises, is set to hit theaters in July 2012.

Get out those capes and masks there’s a whole new round of Gotham themed marketing on the way for the upcoming addition to the Batman franchise.   While the marketing campaigns will be directed at the kids if The Dark Knight Rises is anything like the original The Dark Knight, it may be best for the grownups to see this one in the theaters and hold off on letting the kids watch it until it comes out on DVD.

Here are the details on the upcoming movie The Dark Knight Rises….

Director Christopher Nolan is back on board for the sequel to 2008′s The Dark Knight which picks up where the original left off.   The new film will feature Batman returning to Gotham after fleeing the city as a wanted man at the end of the first film.

As filming comes closer, Nolan is starting to let some of the details on the new film slip out.  First off, it will not be a 3D version as had been rumored but will instead feature high-def power punches to amp up the special effects onscreen.  The Dark Knight Rises will bring to life many of the same characters as the original with a few new ones thrown into the mix.  There’s no confirmation coming on the bad guy, but Nolan did rule out The Riddler as the main villain.  One rumor he did not dispel was whether Tom Hanks had signed on as one of the bad guys.

Will you be taking your kids to see The Dark Knight Rises when it comes out in 2012?
