So, add Billy Ray Cyrus and Tish Cyrus’ split to the pile of broken marriages. News broke today that Miley Cyrus’ parents, Billy Ray and Tish Cyrus, have filed for divorce.
Naysayers will likely comment that the Billy Ray Cyrus and Tish Cyrus split isn’t a surprise – after the rash of celeb breakups and divorces in the news lately, it’s hard to find anyone famous who stays together anymore.
Billy Ray and Tish Cyrus split after 17 years of marriage, issuing a statement about their divorce on Wednesday:
“As you can imagine, this is a very difficult time for our family. We are trying to work through some personal matters. We appreciate your thoughts and prayers.”
One has to question if the fame of their daughter, Miley Cyrus, took a toll on the marriage, but then again, we may never know.
And, no surprise here, Billy Ray and Tish Cyrus’ divorce papers cite “irreconcilable differences” for their split.
Billy Ray and Tish have five children – of course, we all know Miley, but their other famous offspring is former Metro Station frontman Trace Cyrus.
