GQ Glee Photos: Katie Couric Disappointed with “Raunchy” Glee GQ Photos (Video)
GQ Glee photos – you’ve seen them by now, you’ve formed your own opinion… well, here’s one more. Katie Couric says she’s “really disappointed” about the oh-so-sexy Glee GQ schoolgirl photo shoot.
And you don’t want to disappoint Katie Couric!
At the end of last night’s CBS Evening News broadcast, Katie Couric gave her opinion on the GQ Glee photos, noting that while she’s a Gleek and she watches Glee ever week with her 14-year-old daughter, she isn’t happy with what she calls “raunchy photos.”
Watch Katie Couric sound off on the GQ Glee photos in the video clip below:
“We watch Glee at my house every week. It’s something my 14-year-old daughter will actually do with me these days – and we both marvel at how beautifully the show has tackled difficult subjects like being gay, death, single parenthood, teenage pregnancy, disabilities and faith to name a few.
So I was really surprised to see the two female leads, Lea Michele and Dianna Agron, in GQ, posing provocatively in their underwear, sucking lollipops and sitting spread eagle in a series of, well, raunchy photos.”
Katie Couric adds in her Notebook segment: “These very adult photos of young women who perform in a family show just seem so un-Glee-like. The program is already edgy in the right ways. These images don’t really, in my humble opinion, fit the Glee gestalt.”
Thankfully, Couric acknowledges that in the grand scheme of things “there are a lot of bigger problems in the world right now,” but says, “as Mr. Schuester might say to the club, ‘I’m really disappointed.’ ”
