Deanna Favre Faces Life’s Challenges and Scandals Head-on (Video)
October was supposed to be quite the month for Deanna Favre. The wife of NFL star Brett Favre had a new book hitting bookstores and a full schedule of publicity appearances scheduled to talk about the book and her own battle with breast cancer. Then along came the Jenn Sterger scandal.
Many of us would have cancelled the interviews, crawled back into bed and hibernated until the scandal passed. Not Deanna Favre, she’s facing the scandal the same way she stood up to cancer by turning to her faith and meeting the challenge head-on.
It is through her work as a breast cancer awareness activist that Deanna Favre is making a name for herself. After being diagnosed with breast cancer in 2004, Deanna has taken a high-profile position at the forefront of the fight against the disease. She started the Deanna Favre Hope Foundation to raise money and awareness for women around the country. She has written two books about her experiences - Don’t Bet Against Me in 2007 and The Cure for the Chronic Life which arrives in bookshelves later this month.
“The worst experience or the worst struggle I think that I had to face was the death of my brother, and then four days later, being diagnosed with breast cancer,” she tells Fox & Friends of her personal struggles. “So I think I’m a survivor if I can get through that, I can get through anything.”
Today Deanna is cancer free, felling good, and ready to face whatever the world throws at her.
