Kim Novak Focuses Attention on Annual Breast Cancer Screenings
Come on girls – it’s time to schedule those annual breast exams and mammograms! October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month and there is no better time that to make that phone call to get your annual screening done.
Actress Kim Novak was just diagnosed with breast cancer, but her prognosis is positive because it was caught early during her annual routine mammogram.
Her manager says of her condition, “All her doctors say she is in fantastic physical shape and should recover very well.”
The Vertigo star was extremely lucky that the disease was caught early offering her the best treatment options and best overall prognosis.
Breast Cancer Awareness Month helps remind us all of the importance of good breast health. The most important steps to take to help maintain your own breast help is to perform those monthly self-exams and to visit your doctor annually for a clinical breast exam. For those of us over the age of 40, your doctor may advice you to start a schedule of regular mammography screening which will depend on your personal risk factors.
