The View Walk Off on Bill O’Reilly: Time for Joy Behar and Whoopi Goldberg to Grow Up? (Video)
The View walk off on Bill O’Reilly yesterday has people talking: is it time for Joy Behar and Whoopi Goldberg to grow up?
In this Today show video clip, the Bill O’Reilly fight is replayed, showing Joy Behar and Whoopi Goldberg walk off The View stage when the argument got heated.
With Bill O’Reilly as a guest, it should be expected that things will get heated, right?
Should The View walk off even have happened?
Of course, people are taking sides, with some agreeing that Joy and Whoopi had every right to bail during the interview – later, on her Headline News show, Behar said, “I thought he was saying something that I construe as hate speech, frankly.”
So why didn’t you stick it out and argue your point of view, Joy??
Matt Lauer brings up an excellent point on The View walk off in this video – you don’t walk off on your own show!
Barbara Walters agreed, making mention of Joy and Whoopi’s unprofessional behavior after they left the stage before arguing the topic with Bill O’Reilly a bit more calmly, saying, “It was extremist. You can’t take a whole religion and demean them.”
O’Reilly apologized. Joy and Whoopi returned to the stage.
But honestly, do you think Joy and Whoopi need to grow up? Wasn’t storming off the stage kind of like a toddler have a tantrum?
I’m no O’Reilly fan, but when you invite someone on your show, you have to be prepared to stick it out, for better or for worse.
And, just for fun, Meredith Vieira tries to walk off on Matt Lauer at the Today desk, but discovers she’s tied down!

Mama Bear commented on Oct 15 10 at 11:26 amI though it was a great way to shut up Bill. When he said “listen to me, and you might learn something”, it was very condescending to the ladies and all their viewers. Bill’s premise that Obama is not popular because a muslim group wanted to convert an old coat store into a community center is just bunk. That was another media fail. Obama is losing popularity by helping Wall Street, but not Main Street.
When Bill started to blame all muslims, it was a second falsehood and also hate speech. By walking off, they got him to apologize, which was necessary before some misguided twit attacks another hindu cab driver.
